Meet the man behind the viral Bijlee Bijlee Dance
Hardy Sandhu’s Bijlee Bijlee song, also starring Palak Tiwari, has been ruling music charts. The hook step of the song has also taken the nation by storm. Rajit Dev, who choreographed the hit number, is overwhelmed with the response.
“As a choreographer, it was a dream to see people following the dance steps I create and that has happened with the Bijlee song. People are enjoying doing the hook steps of the track. I can’t express my feeling in words seeing so many people do it not only in India but around the world. We also have videos from abroad. It makes me happy and proud,” he smiles.
At 83 Film Premiere
Recently, at the premiere of Kabir Khan’s 83 premieres, actor Deepika Padukone too was seen attempting the step.
“I did see a lot of videos where Ranveer Singh along with Hardy paaji was dancing, and Deepika would also be there learning the hook step. It’s wonderful that they are also liking the signature steps of the song. Glad that Bijlee is trending, after all, it’s so addictive,” he adds.
While Bijlee seems to be the party song of the year, Rajit has two more songs on his list, they are Jugnu by Badshah and Lover by Diljit Dosanjh. He feels these three hit tracks can rock any party.
“When I heard the song for the first time I straight away called up Arvinder Khaira and said this song is going to be a sure shot hit. I choreographed the steps in 15 minutes. My job was to create something unique and I just went with the flow. I never imagined the step would be viral. But my assistant was very confident and kept saying this can go viral. So with God’s grace and everyone’s love the song is a super-duper hit with my steps complementing the melody and words. I am waiting for 2022 to turn out well. I wish I get more opportunities to do movie songs. And I just want to thank everyone with who I associated within 2021. It’s been a crazy year with ups and downs but we must stay positive and look forward to the New Year,” he ends.
