Gambling is about the high-risk, high reward lifestyle that is usually associated with Americans, but did you know that Bollywood films have also portrayed gambling on the big screen? The Indian Bollywood scene is alive with exciting dance sequences, melodramatic plots and action; not at all unlike Hollywood. There are endless Bollywood movies about gambling, and this list takes the best of the best. We recommend seeing all of these.

The Gambler:

Dayashanker Pandey, a police inspector, is a work-dodger that prefers to have an average life complete with a comfortable desk job. Although he attempts to do this, fate has other plans. Every time he goes outside to start his rounds, he stumbled upon criminals and is forced to take them down. He becomes well-liked in this division, despite not wanting to be.

 

Dayashanker knows that if he becomes the pride of his jurisdiction, he will land in a lot of trouble with the worst gangsters imaginable; ending his fantasy of having a normal life. What’s riskier than gambling with your life? In all seriousness, the movie features various underground markets such as the gun trade, drug trade and gambling trade. Maybe if he had stuck to playing at online casinos, like Casumo India, Dayashanker would have stayed out of trouble.

Teen Pattie:

Venkat Subramaniam, a professor of software engineering, mathematics and considered a genius is teaching math to the kids of the local village when he is given a letter. The letter is from Perci Trachtenberg, a British mathematician that known the world over as being the best at math. He asks Venkat to visit him in London, where he introduces him to the high-rolling casino life.

 

Venkat tells Perci of an equation he discovered that could change the dialogue on mathematics forever. The theory has to do with probability and randomness and to test this theory Venkat tested it against multiple games of online Teen Patti (a version of Poker). This theory works, and the story snowballs from there where the two characters become corrupted by the money they earn, and the two main characters start to turn on each other.

Striker:

Suryakant Sarang grew up in a low-income family with little luxuries. He also has poor health that keeps him away from school, so his brother introduces him to the game carrom. Suryakant wins the junior carrom championship at the age of 12, but this only made him want to play the sport more. He plays to earn enough money so he can get a job in Dubai, but this dream is taken away when Surya is fooled by an overseas employment agency and loses everything.

 

Surya soon crosses paths with a man called Jaleel. Jaleel is a gang leader that runs many ghettos and underground gambling rings, as well as selling illegal weapons. Surya unknowingly falls into the gambling underground and uses his skills to gain money and clout, but Jaleel steals all of his earnings. Surya eventually uses his gambling know-how to win against him.

The Great Gambler

Expert Gambler Jai has never lost a game. These incredible skills attract the attention of an underworld don named Ratan Das. He asks Jai to help him win money out of rich people, so he can then influence them to do whatever he wants. Jai agrees, but he accidentally entraps Nath, who is then blackmailed into revealing plans for a deadly laser. When the authorities learn about this laser, they assign Inspector called Vijay, who looks precisely like Jai.

 

Jai and Vijay eventually cross paths, and the two go their separate ways as Jai is interested in a money-making scheme. Vijay is sent to retrieve evidence to take down the underworld don Saxena. This movie is a cult classic, and a must-see for anyone interested in gambling and action flicks.
