As luck might have it, Akshay Kumar has been taking up social issues through his realistic films – ‘Baby’, ‘Gabbar Is Back’, ‘Airlift’, ‘Rustom’, ‘Jolly LLB 2’, ‘Naam Shabana’ and his most recent success ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ are proof of the same. In fact, his next film ‘Padman’ is also about the man who introduced sanitary napkins for women.
But does Akshay Kumar feel the same?
At a recently held event, he said:
“I will always be a commercial hero. If I like a film on social issues, I will take it. I am playing a villain in ‘2.0’, playing hockey in ‘Gold’. Please don’t stereotype me.”
Heard him loud and clear? This superstar doesn’t want to be known as the face that only does social issues.
