Exclusive Release: Nic Billington at war with new single, “Without a Warning”. Nic Billington, whose music career received a massive boost in 2008 when one of his covers was featured on Britney Spears’ website, is back with a follow up to his recent number 1 smash hit, “You Get Me High”.

Penned by Billington, Paul Gala and Mia van Wyk, the dark retro Synthwave inspired single, titled “Without a Warning”, sheds light on issues surrounding mental health. Serving as a stark reminder that appearances at face value can be deceiving.

Through distorted baselines and carefully crafted lyrics, “Without a Warning” speaks about the inner turmoil of the mind. Which is something that the singer feels very strongly about. Similarly, having dealt with anxiety, depression and low self-esteem for many years.

Nic explained more on the track;

“Because I’m such a private person, I would hate to give the impression that my life is perfect. I don’t always have it all together and that’s something we never show over social media. We’re constantly comparing ourselves to this filtered life that we see on Instagram and it’s so detrimental to our psyche.”

“I decided to open up about my struggles to show that anyone can fall victim to mental illness. Which is why it’s important for people to be mindful of how they treat others. It can unknowingly harm a person’s well-being.”, he added.

The single is accompanied by a super sleek and edgy music video. Ingeniously displaying scenes of chaos, constriction and distress. Nic describes the self-directed and produced visual as a beautifully dark and turbulent representation of someone that is at war with their own mind.
