Former Miss India and Bollywood actress, Tanushree Dutta has created a big splash in the Indian Film Industry, spearheading the #Metoo movement in India, opening the door to expose many culprits in Bollywood who have been guilty of abusing their power against women and creating an unsafe work environment for them. Due to her bold stance, others have been encouraged to speak up and expose other perpetrators. However, she has been under fire also by her critics – who say, she is just doing it for a comeback. She had started a new life and base in the US for almost the past 10 years when she had left Bollywood.

“When I met Tanushree, she seemed to be a very honest, genuine and up-front person. I don’t think she would be making up stories to get attention. She seemed a bit distraught and disturbed from her whole Bollywood experience,” says New York’s premier Indian designer Tina Tandon, who has been dressing Tanushree for her appearances in the US.

“We are very proud of her being bold and speaking up, and inspiring others to do the same against any mistreatment or oppression faced by women in the workplace, especially Bollywood. We are all about women-empowerment, and it has been our company motto to support women causes before it became a big subject” says designer Tina Tandon.
