Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018: Punit Balana And Neha Agarwal Brought Drama At 6degree Studio

Sunday, the final day of the Lakmé Fashion Week was full of style. But style and fashion go hand-in-hand with drama, and this was no different.

Designers Punit Balana and Neha Agarwal’s label Agami brought loads of drama to the runway. Read on to know more about their collections

A Floral Symphony Of Prints Created A Stylish Melody By Punit Balana

Punit Balana conducted a fashion orchestra of beautiful colours, prints and styles with his debut collection at 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018.

Light, luxurious, almost playful, silhouettes floated down the runway revealing an amazing array of textiles, crafts and designs. On a cream or white colour card, Punit showered rose and peacock hand block and digital prints, which he plucked carefully from his garden of inspirations.

Choosing fabrics that matched the mood of the ensembles – silk, cotton, mulmul and Chanderi, Punit shimmered them with embroidery. Free-flowing feminine maxis, twin sets, trousers, jumpsuits, long cropped blouses, capes, saris, pants, spaghetti and halter strap tops, vied for attention with the opulent anarkalis. Cleverly layering the designs, Punit proved that a look could be achieved with several options.

Bollywood actress Diana Penty glided down the runway for Punit. She wore a three layered skirt with geometrical prints, which was matched with a tube top and a gorgeously embellished shrug with soft heart-shaped embroidery in antique gold coloured threads, sequins and gemstones.

Neha Agarwal’s Fusion Collection Was A Spirited Line

Lost in the Woods” for the ‘Agami’ label by Neha Agarwal was a collection that draws one to walk through a fantastic forest.

Inspired by nature and wilderness, the very things which fuel the imagination, this collection was all about letting go of one’s inhibitions.

Fusing Indian couture with modern silhouettes, each piece was distinct in style. Gowns, kurta dresses, tunic blouses, jackets, saris, crop tops, lehengas, pants and trousers made their way onto the runway in head turning colours like mint green, grey, silver, powder blue and yellow.

To add to the opulence of this collection, Neha enhanced each piece with meticulous details – from intricate zari work using silver and gold thread, bugle beads to carefully placed concealed zippers, fabric cutwork and handmade textures on fabric and sequins.

Fabric selection moved from organza, cotton, tulle and crêpe to intriguing silk fusions, like silk-nylon, silk-linen and silk cotton that graced the ramp in both exaggerated shapes as well as structured forms.
