Sonaakshi Raaj gave the traditional bridal wear at LFW!

Young designer Sonaakshi Raaj presented her new collection “The Run-Away Bride” at the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015. The clothing line was the perfect embodiment of the New Age, modern bride that is trending the fashion industry.

Sonaakshi Raaj created opulent, glamorous ensembles that catered to women’s couture wear, with a design philosophy that was distinctly feminine and refined. The concept behind the collection was to portray the amalgamation of different moods of a modern woman.

The models walked the runway elegantly as they swayed down the aisle looking striking in the jewel glazed robes. The gorgeous ensembles ranged from structured gowns, embroidered blazers with cut-out detailing, sheer capes, tasselled palazzo jumpsuits, boleros and contemporary Indian wear.

The line was infused with luxe fabrics such as net, taffeta, organza, tulle and georgette splashed with delicate pearls and exquisite stone embellishments. The colour palette saw a dominance of bold jewel tones blending into soft pastels.  The focal concept of the collection was the usage of flowing drapes and silhouettes with an edgy twist for the contemporary woman.

The showstopper was acclaimed actress and model, Kriti Sanon who wore a gorgeous fairytale-like gown, which was blush pink and swept the runway with layers of tulle bedazzled with gold embroidery and a lace belt. Another silhouette that highlighted the show was the black mermaid-cut gown with a beautiful opened back and an array of rainbow coloured tassels used as a shrug.

Bold, brazen and yet so desirable with an untamed signature style of her own, ‘The Run-Away Bride’ by Sonaakshi Raaj managed to do nothing short of dazzle.
