Akshara Centre Associates With Vibha Bakshi To Screen The Award Winning, SonRise

Akshara Centre along with R.D , S.H National College and S.W.A Science College in association with National Service Scheme Cell have come together to present a special screening of SonRise an award winning film by Vibha Bakshi.

SonRise, is a powerful film on gender rights that celebrates the unsung heroes in Haryana, standing up for gender inequality.

Commenting on the association with Akshara Centre, Vibha Bakshi, the director of SonRise said

“Akshara Centre has been working relentlessly towards creating a gender just society. I’m extremely happy to be associated with them and bring my film to the young leaders and change makers of our society.”

Nandita Gandhi , Co-Director of Akshara Centre said that

“It is overwhelming to join hands with a cause driven documentary film maker – Vibha Bakshi for the special screening of her award winning film – SonRise amongst 600 students from 100 different colleges, to create a society that is gender just, equal and violence free “

The event saw the youth of Mumbai come together to take a pledge to change the narrative on inequality in India.
