Known for his ability to explore emotional complexity with restraint, Suresh Triveni crafted a narrative that goes beyond conventional drama, delving into moral ambiguity, privilege, guilt, and the fragile nature of truth. Jalsa was never about loud moments, it thrived in silences, in pauses, and in the unspoken tension that lingered long after the screen faded to black.

Suresh Triveni shared a post in remembrance of his 4 years completion of Jalsa, captioning, “Jalsa completes 4 years today. The film was originally called Blind. This one remains very close to my heart for various reasons. Everything about this film was quiet — be it the love, the recognition, the praise ….and it is still being discovered. I had the fortune of working with some real stalwarts and some amazing new talent. Like every film, this too had some amazing HODs and crew. Whatever I make or continue to make, this one will always be the quiet kid l’ll go back to and keep a constant check on.”

Reflecting on the film’s enduring impact and his creative synergy with the cast and crew, Suresh Triveni shares, “For me It was nothing short of dream come true. To come back with Vidya Balan post Tumhari Sulu and then to have Shefali Shah along side is like getting a bucket list ticked. And then to have a thespian like Rohini Hatangidi and sparkling new comers like Surya Kasibhatla and Vidhatri Bandi was a bonus . It’s a complete production feat, as we shot during Covid and I would not able been able to achieve it without my producer Vikram Malhotra”

Following the global momentum of Subedaar, starring Anil Kapoor, which continues to trend worldwide, Suresh Triveni is already building anticipation for his next. The filmmaker is gearing up for Maa Behen, part of Netflix’s upcoming slate, bringing together an exciting cast led by Tripti Dimri and Madhuri Dixit. With audiences increasingly drawn to Triveni’s nuanced storytelling, there is palpable curiosity around what he explores next, making Maa Behen one of the most awaited titles on the horizon.
