2022 has been another great year for television. We have seen many leading ladies break the boundaries of age, class, and many other stereotypes. It is safe to say that 2022 was definitely the year where women ruled! While we appreciate every woman out there, here’s a look at 30 women who made an impact with their work on television for 2022!

We love and appreciate every actor equally and there are many actors who could not be fitted into the list, so please view the list for fun.

30) Eisha Singh
One of the shows which were much talked about for the year was Colors’ Sirf Tum which later made its way onto Voot. Eisha Singh played the role of Suhani Sharma, an aspiring doctor, who had to face much hardship to make her dreams a reality. Both Eisha’s performance and chemistry with Vivian Dsena was admired by the audience.
29) Tanvi Dogra
Tanvi Dogra has been playing the role of Neeti Bajwa in Parineetii. Neeti is an ambitious and bubbly girl who later unknowingly marries her best friend’s husband. Tanvi shines bright in her role and her scenes with both her co-stars, Anchal Sahu and Ankur Verma are delightful to watch!
28) Celesti Bairagey
One of the fresh faces which 2022 gave us is Celesti Bairagey. Celesti made her debut with the titular role in Rajjo on Star Plus. Celesti, often referred to as Alia Bhatt’s lookalike, managed to make her own place on our screens.
27) Sana Sayyad
One of the unique TV concepts to come out of 2022 was a Spy Bahu! Yes! And it was none other than Sana Sayyad who took on the role of Sejal, a clumsy yet bubbly girl who becomes an undercover agent. Sana played this interesting role really well and her chemistry with Sehban Azim received a lot of love.
26) Radhika Muthukumar
Sasural Simar Ka 2 has been having a great run on Colors. It is certainly making its first season proud. This season, it was Radhika Muthukumar who is seen in the role of Simar. There were many tracks throughout the year which allowed Radhika to showcase her great skills, and apart from becoming the ideal bahu of TV, she is no doubt quite the performer too.
25) Ashi Singh
Ashi Singh was seen in the role of Meet Hooda Ahlawat in Zee TV’s Meet. The show has been going strong and Ashi never fails to surprise the audience with her performance as the unique and strong Meet.
24) Rajashree Thakur
One of the most awaited comebacks of TV was seen in 2022. It was none other than Rajashree Thakur who portrayed the role of Pallavi in Sony’s Appnapan-Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan. Pallavi was a single mother who through destiny and a conspiracy, was separated from her husband and other children many years ago. Rajashree proved yet again that she is one of the finest actresses on our television screens.
23) Aishwarya Sharma
Aishwarya Sharma continued her role of Pakhi in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. In 2022, she was not only seen as a wife, but also a mother on the show. Along with playing Pakhi, we got to see Aishwarya participate in the reality show Smart Jodi along with her real life husband Neil Bhatt who is also her co-star in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. The two managed to win lots of hearts with their love story and performed well on the show.
22) Yesha Rughani
One of the most memorable shows of the year is definitely Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey. We got to see Yesha Rughani play the role of Ridhima ‘Gungun’ Bhatnagar on the show. Gungun was once a spoilt brat who later began to value the love and presence of a family. Yesha was seen going through some challenging tracks on the show and definitely gave Gungun that ‘full on’ power to make an impact on the viewers.
21) Sangita Ghosh
The harsh realities which modern families experience were definitely a highlighted concept on television in 2022. One of the shows which beautifully presented this was Swaran Ghar. Sangita Ghosh portrayed the role of Swaran Bedi, a woman who was suddenly left alone after her husband’s death, and has her children ready to battle her for the family’s wealth. Both the show and Swaran made the viewers feel emotional on many occasions, but Swaran became a symbol of power and self-respect for every mother out there. Sangita Ghosh played the challenging role incredibly well and we hope to see more of her real soon.
20) Shweta Tiwari
Another comeback we all are thankful to 2022 for is, Shweta Tiwari. Shweta returned to the TV screens with Main Hoon Aparajita on Zee TV. The actress is seen playing Aparajita, a single mother of three daughters who faces many difficulties mainly due to society’s poor mind-set. Shweta Tiwari proves yet again that she is one of the best actors and a forever icon on Indian television.
19) Shiny Doshi
Pandya Store on Star Plus continues to be one of the most loved and watched shows on TV. Shiny Doshi continued to ace her role as Dhara Pandya. In 2022, Dhara had faced many people and situations which threatened the unity of her family. Shiny gave Dhara just the right layers of softness and power she needed and is no doubt now one of the most iconic bhabhis of television.
18) Anchal Sahu
Parineetii tells the story of two best friends, Parineet and Neeti. It is Anchal Sahu who plays the role of Parineet, who sacrifices her husband for her best friend, who married him unknowingly. Anchal has managed to pull off this role well and it will be exciting to see her in further shades in this character.
17) Surbhi Chandna
Surbhi Chandna returned to TV with Sherdil Shergill where she is seen playing Manmeet Shergill. Manmeet is a single mother who is successful in her field, and her life takes a turn when she meets her new intern Raj (Dheeraj Dhoopar). Fans were delighted to see Surbhi Chandna back on or screens and have been pouring a lot of love for the actress.
16) Mugdha Chaphekar
Another beautiful and talented actress who continued to win viewers’ hearts in 2022 is Mugdha Chaphekar. Mugdha is currently seen playing Prachi Kohli in the long running Kumkum Bhagya. Mugdha has been playing the role very convincingly and her chemistry with Krishna Kaul is one of the must watch reasons for the show.
15) Disha Parmar Vaidya
The reboot of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is having a good run on our screens. Disha Parmar Vaidya has been playing the role of Priya and has been successfully doing so too. On the show, Priya underwent many challenges and Disha’s performance made Priya shine through it all. Disha continues to nail the role of both a wife and mother on the show.
14) Shivangi Joshi
Shivangi Joshi entered 2022 playing the role of Anandi in the second season of Balika Vadhu. After the show went off-air, there was no stopping Shivangi! The actress participated in the 12th season of stunt based reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi. Shivangi performed really well on the show and the viewers were amazed to see Shivangi in more of a daredevil avatar.
13) Sargun Kaur Luthra
Yeh Hai Chahatein is one of Indian TV’s most popular shows. The leading lady here is none other than Sargun Kaur Luthra, who plays the role of Dr Preesha Khurana. Sargun has made a name for herself as one of the best performers on screen. We have seen her excel in her role where she plays a wife, mother and gynaecologist. Sargun’s on-screen chemistry with Abrar Qazi is also a popular reason to watch the show for fans!
12) Shraddha Arya
A constant favourite among viewers is Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya. The show sees Shraddha Arya portraying the role of Dr Preeta Luthra. Preeta is one of the most loved characters on television and Shraddha’s great performance is no doubt a reason for it. In 2022, we got to see Shraddha Arya with different leading men opposite her but the actress still manages to stand out and hold a solid spot in viewers’ hearts.
11) Alice Kaushik
Throughout the year, one of the most talked about actresses has to be Alice Kaushik. Her performance as Raavi Pandya in Pandya Store, has drawn a lot of appreciation from viewers. She has managed to bring out Raavi’s goofy and dutiful shades, and has also brought out the powerful aura of Raavi on many occasions. Alice’s on-screen and off-screen chemistry with Kanwar Dhillon is also a constant favourite among the audience.
10) Aishwarya Khare
One of the standout characters to come out of television lately is definitely Lakshmi in Bhagya Lakshmi. Playing the role of Lakshmi is none other than Aishwarya Khare! Aishwarya has truly excelled in the role with her acting skills and pleasant personality. We also managed to catch up with the actress during the year and she mentioned how she loves the journey Lakshmi has been on in the show.
9) Sriti Jha
At the start of the year, it was confirmed that Sriti Jha made an exit from Kumkum Bhagya. While this made many sad, Sriti returned with a bang in Khatron Ke Khiladi season 12. On the show, we got to see a never-seen-before avatar of Sriti as she amazed viewers with her fire dancing and slacklining skills. She also performed really well in her stunts. Later on in the year, Sriti entered Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 10 where she emerged as a finalist on the show.
8) Rupali Ganguly
The show which is watched in almost every Indian home in the world-Anupamaa! In 2022, Rupali Ganguly continued to successfully play the titular role. Viewers have time and again pointed out the actress’ fine performances. Rupali’s on-screen chemistry with Gaurav Khanna was also a major talking point throughout the year. Many of Anupamaa’s dialogues also went viral during the year and one can surely say, it is due to the conviction with which Rupali delivers this much loved character.
7) Ayesha Singh
Ayesha Singh has become a household name ever since she began paying the role of Sai Chavan in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. Ayesha has managed to bring out the best in Sai and continued to do so in 2022. We also got to see Sai becoming a mother this year, and Ayesha has been portraying a single mother really well. Ayesha’s on-screen chemistry with Neil Bhatt also continues to receive love from the audience.
6) Rubina Dilaik
One of the actresses who dominated our TV screens in 2022 is Rubina Dilaik. This year, we got to see Rubina as herself in not one, but two reality shows! We first got to see her in Khatron Ke Khiladi season 12. Rubina aced the stunts she was given and we got to see her strength and powerful personality even more in this show. Rubina managed to finish off as a finalist. Thereafter, Rubina was seen as a contestant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa which returned to TV after five years. Here too, Rubina impressed the judges and audience with her dance moves and also became a finalist on the show.
5) Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia
In 2022, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia was first seen playing the role of Seher Kaur Gill Babbar, the daughter of Meher, the character she originally played in Choti Sarrdaarni. Nimrit had showcased yet another strong performance as another fierce and loving sarrdaarni. Towards the later part of the year, Nimrit entered the 16th season of Bigg Boss. Nimrit has won many hearts with her leadership skills and natural personality. Nimrit has also opened up on her mental health issues in the show and this too inspired many viewers.
4) Pranali Rathod
Pranali Rathod is undoubtedly one of the shining actresses in 2022. Her portrayal of Akshara Birla in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai made a huge impact on viewers throughout the year. Pranali’s fun-loving yet strong persona made Akshara convincing and a much-loved character on television. Her pairing with Harshad Chopda also never failed to create magic on-screen.
3) Priyanka Chahar Choudhary
Udaariyaan continued to be one of the most loved shows of 2022. Priyanka Chahar Choudhary played the role of Tejo Singh Virk on the show. Priyanka made Tejo a character which connected with every viewer and won over their heart. Along with Tejo, Priyanka also played Tanya for a short while who was Tejo’s lookalike. The entire cast shot beautiful sequences in Glasgow and London, and Priyanka’s role as Tanya in a foreign land got many people talking too. In October, Priyanka entered Bigg Boss season 16 along with Udaariyaan co-star Ankit Gupta. Within a short span of time, Priyanka became a top contender, with her involvement in house issues and ability to put forward her thoughts.
2) Sumbul Touqeer Khan
Another actress who played a titular role successfully is Sumbul Touqeer Khan. The actress was in and as Imlie for most of the year, where her performance received a lot of appreciation from fans and the neutral audience. Sumbul was also a stand out personality in Ravivaar with Star Parivaar on Star Plus. Sumbul brought the fun element every time she participated and was seen in full form every single time! Sumbul Touqeer Khan too, entered Bigg Boss 16, and received strong support from viewers. From a quiet contestant, Sumbul became a fun and interesting contender on the show.
1) Tejasswi Prakash
She needs no introduction, she is Tejasswi Prakash! Tejasswi began the year emerging as the winner of season 15 of Bigg Boss. Literally weeks later, Tejasswi’s new show began airing and it was the sixth instalment of India’s most popular thriller, Naagin. Tejasswi has portrayed the role of Pratha, a Sheshnaagin, who was determined to save her country from a deadly virus. Tejasswi later began to play the role of Pratha’s daughter-Prathana as well. It was exciting for the viewers to see Tejasswi in two very interesting roles at the same time. Tejasswi proved that along with a strong personality, her acting skills are not short of excellent either. Tejasswi also made appearances on The Khatra Khatra Show along with real-life partner Karan Kundrra, and on Dance Deewane Juniors, where Karan was the host. Tejasswi continues to inspire her fans by simply embracing who she is and showing that dedication and hard work will definitely take you places!
