2022 has been a great year of television. Roles for men on television are getting more progressive and innovative too. We decided to have a look at 30 men who made an impact with their work on television this year.
Please note: This list is not based on any voting or any measure of popularity. It is simply a list presenting 30 of the most impactful men on television for the year. We love and appreciate every actor equally and there are many actors who could not be fitted into the list, so please view the list for fun.

30) Mannan Joshi
Mannan Joshi has been an actor on the rise in the last few years. In 2022, he amazed the audience with his portrayal of Dr Anubhav Kulshresht in Star Plus’ Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey. It was refreshing to see a scientist on television and his chemistry with co-star Yesha Rughani was appreciated by the audience.
29) Ankur Verma
One of the fresh faces of 2022 was Ankur Verma who plays the role of Rajeev Bajwa on Colors’ popular show Parineetii. The character is no doubt a challenging one as Ankur has had to balance chemistry with not one but two on-screen partners! While the character may remain controversial, Ankur has delivered a sincere and charming performance as Rajeev.
28) Vivian Dsena
One of the most loved actors of our screens, Vivian Dsena, was seen on our screens in the show Sirf Tum. Vivian played the role of Ranveer Oberoi, a medical student who has a rather fiery personality. Vivian nailed yet another role which the fans appreciated and can remember.
27) Shabir Ahluwalia
At the start of 2022, fans were met with the news that Shabir Ahluwalia had exited Kumkum Bhagya which he was part of since 2014. Lucky for the fans, Shabir was back with another Zee TV show. This time it was Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan. Ahluwalia portrays the role of Mohan, a flute player who is left heart-broken after his wife’s death. Shabir certainly excelled in another challenging and interesting character.
26) Manit Joura
Manit Joura, popularly known for his role of Rishabh Luthra in Kundali Bhagya, made waves this year as Rishabh ended up marrying Preeta on the show, in order to take the story forward post a leap. While Manit continues to receive love for his role as Rishabh, he was also seen in a cameo on the hit series Naagin season 6. Manit played a professor who guided the Sheshnaagin in her battle to free India from a virus which plagued the nation.
25) Hitesh Bharadwaj
Hitesh Bharadwaj entered into the year playing the role of Sanjay in Zee TV’s Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain. Here he was seen playing a husband who supports his wife to fulfil her dreams, even if it may be bigger than his own ambitions. Towards the later part of 2022, Hitesh Bharadwaj bagged the role of Ekampreet Randhawa post a generation leap in Udaariyaan on Colors. Hitesh gives a fine performance in each of his roles and will surely be doing bigger things in future.
24) Krishna Kaul
Kumkum Bhagya is no doubt one of the most successful shows on Indian television. The show now follows the story of Abhi and Pragya’s daughters, and their relationship with Ranbir Kohli. Ranbir Kohli is played by none other than Krishna Kaul. Krishna succeeds in his performance as the funny, charming and loving husband on the show.
23) Kinshuk Mahajan
Pandya Store on Star Plus has been having a great run and Kinshuk Mahajan continues to win the audience’s hearts as Gautam Pandya aka ‘Gombi’. Kinshuk’s performance as the wiser, bigger brother appears so natural and so does his performance as a husband on the show. His on-screen chemistry with all his co-actors is definitely great to watch!
22) Aakash Ahuja
One of the finest new performers is no doubt, Aakash Ahuja. For the first quarter of 2022, Aakash was seen playing the role of record label executive, Purab Singhania, in Thapki Pyar Ki 2. Aakash later bagged the role of Ayaan Mittal in Faltu. Ahuja continues to wow the audience with his performance in each and every episode.
21) Simba Nagpal
Following Bigg Boss season 15, Simba Nagpal bagged the lead male role in Naagin 6. Simba played the role of Rishabh Gujral, an army officer who is dedicated to protecting his country. It was fantastic to see a man in uniform on our screens! Simba also played the role of Shakti on the show who was Rishabh’s twin brother. Fans showered Simba with lots of praise for his roles on the show.
20) Karan V Grover
Much loved actor Karan V Grover was seen in Udaariyaan as Angad Maan, who later became an obsessive lover on the show. Karan excelled yet again in another interesting character. After Udaariyaan, Karan was seen playing Ritesh Malhotra in Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai, where he was a famous film star and formed a special bond with a little girl.
19) Nakuul Mehta
Nakuul Mehta’s portrayal of Ram Kapoor in the second season of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain continued to win everyone’s hearts in 2022. The character went through various challenges including a leap, and Nakuul managed to maintain his stellar performance as the iconic character of television.
18) Shakti Arora
Stepping into another actor and character’s shoes is no easy task, especially on Indian television. Shakti Arora however, has managed to rise above this challenge and make his own place in Zee TV’s ever popular Kundali Bhagya. Shakti entered the show post Dheeraj Dhoopar’s exit and took on the role of Arjun Sooryavanshi who appears to be Karan’s new identity. Shakti has wowed the audience with his performance and his pairing with Shraddha Arya has also received a lot of love.
17) Shaheer Sheikh
He has the power to turn each show he is part of into a hit! He is none other than Shaheer Sheikh. In 2022, Shaheer began his journey as Krishna Choudhary aka Kanha in Star Bharat’s Woh Toh Hai Albelaa. His performance as Kanha was certainly as charming as the character name.
16) Rohit Suchanti
Bhagya Lakshmi crossed the one year mark in 2022 and Rohit Suchanti aka Rishi Oberoi has managed to make quite an impact with his performance. Rohit’s chemistry with Aishwarya Khare and his overall fun-loving personality makes him admired both on and off-screen.
15) Gautam Singh Vig
One of the most popular names this year is no doubt Gautam Singh Vig. The actor began the year playing Surya in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2. His performance there was much appreciated but the iconic franchise’s second season bid adieu around July. Few months later, we got to see Gautam in India’s most popular reality show Bigg Boss! Gautam managed to win over many viewers with his personality and his eviction from the show came as quite a surprise.
14) Shiv Thakare
One of the biggest and best names 2022 has given to Indian TV is none other than Shiv Thakare. Shiv Thakare who is a winner of Bigg Boss Marathi season 2, entered the 16th season of Bigg Boss (Hindi) on Colors. Shiv has managed to win many hearts by playing the game well and also making many meaningful bonds in the house. If there’s anyone who wears their heart on their sleeve, it is Shiv Thakare! We also hope to see him in the fiction space next year!
13) Pratik Sehajpal
2022 began with a bang for Pratik Sehajpal as he was placed as the runner up in Bigg Boss 15. Pratik managed to gain immense fan following and went on to become a popular name on social media. Pratik also participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi season 12. Towards the end of the year, Pratik entered his first fiction show for TV in Colors’ hit thriller Naagin 6. Sehajpal played the role of Rudra and the viewers showed much appreciation for his performance on the show.
12) Neil Bhatt
Neil Bhatt has been part of one of the most successful shows on TV for the past two years-Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. His portrayal of ACP Virat Chavan has received a lot of love and so has his on-screen pairing with Ayesha Singh. Not only this, Neil also participated on Star Plus’ Smart Jodi with his real wife (also co-star) Aishwarya Sharma. The real life couple performed well on the show and definitely melted many hearts with their love story.
11) Abrar Qazi
Yeh Hai Chahatein turns 3 years old in 2022. And what would Yeh Hai Chahatein be without rockstar Rudraksh Khurana? Abrar Qazi has been growing from strength to strength on the show and his fine acting has left quite an impression on many. His on-screen chemistry with Sargun Kaur Luthra has also been a constant USP of the show.
10) Abdu Rozik
Countries are no longer barriers for talent, and Abdu Rozik proves this yet again in 2022! The singer entered Bigg Boss 16 this year and has exceeded all expectations of the viewers. Abdu has won many hearts with his cuteness and innocent personality. Many of his dialogues from the show have also gone viral. Abdu is also an inspiration for many and we cannot wait to see him doing big things in future.
9) Sudhanshu Pandey
The name Vanraj Shah from Anupamaa, is one of the most popular names in Indian households worldwide. Vanraj Shah is played by actor Sudhanshu Pandey who has time and again impressed the audience with his acting prowess. On many occasions, Vanraj appears to be the most real and most human character on the show and Sudhanshu pulls off this intensely grey shaded role so effortlessly!
8) Gaurav Khanna
TV’s number one show Anupamaa has given us another much loved character and this time it’s Anuj Kapadia. Anuj is played by Gaurav Khanna who has made quite an impression on many viewers of the show. His on-screen chemistry with Rupali Ganguly is a constant talking point as the fans are left in awe daily at the dreamy and romantic Anuj Kapadia.
7) Ankit Gupta
For most of 2022, Ankit Gupta was seen making waves for his role of Fateh Singh Virk on Udaariyaan. His character was received well by the audience and his on-screen chemistry with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary made fans fall totally in love. Ankit then entered the 16th season of Bigg Boss along with Priyanka and this time, instead of Fateh and Tejo, the fans got to see Ankit and Priyanka. Ankit’s quiet and calm personality drew a lot of attention with Ankit finally opening up after much advice. Ankit continues to be one of the most talked about contestants on the show.
6) Karan Kundrra
Karan Kundrra kicked off the year as the second runner-up of Bigg Boss 15. Since then, he and Tejasswi Prakash’s relationship have attracted all the eyeballs! Fans shower love for the pair who they refer to as #TejRan. 2022 also saw Kundrra as the host for the first season of Dance Deewane Juniors on Colors. Karan’s charming and funny personality was well received by the audience and so was his bond with the judges, in particular, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor.
5) Arjun Bijlani
Hosting and Arjun Bijlani have become synonymous on television no doubt. The actor continues to win over the audience with his fine hosting and acting skills. Arjun started off the year as the host of India’s Got Talent on Sony TV. He then participated on Star Plus’ Smart Jodi with his real wife Neha Swami. The two won over the audience with their love story and performed well on the show. Arjun and Neha finished off as the second runners-up of the show. After this, Arjun was seen hosting Ravivaar with Star Parivaar. Arjun’s hosting was taken to the next level as this time, he interacted with actors of Star Plus shows in their on-screen avatars. The audience appreciated how Arjun bonded so well with their favourite TV characters. Arjun is ending off 2022 hosting the 14th season of MTV’s Splitsvilla.
4) Kanwar Dhillon
One of the most talked about actors for 2022 has to be Kanwar Dhillon. The actor who has been part of Star Plus’s Pandya Store, has got many people talking this year. His portrayal of Shiva Pandya has received a lot of praise by the audience. The actor gave a stellar performance in many of the show’s challenging tracks during the year. His on-screen and off-screen chemistry with Alice Kaushik has also received constant praise by the fans.
3) Dheeraj Dhoopar
In 2022 many hearts broke as Dheeraj Dhoopar left long-running show, Kundali Bhagya. His portrayal of ‘The Karan Luthra’ has a permanent place in the viewers’ hearts and we wonder if we would get to see him back as the iconic character sometime in future. Following this major heart break, we got to see Dheeraj enter the 10th season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa where he successfully competed for a few weeks until an injury hampered his journey on the show. There was still no stopping Dheeraj, as his new show Sherdil Shergill went on air where he plays the role of Rajkumar Yadav, a stand-up comedian. He has been receiving a lot of love for this role too. Cricketer, stand-up comedian or just Dheeraj as himself, the actor does not fail to impress the audience.
2) Fahmaan Khan
One of the most popular shows for 2022 is Imlie, and one of the reasons for the show’s success is the chemistry between Fahmaan Khan and Sumbul Touqeer Khan on the show. Apart from this pairing, Fahmaan wowed the audience with his performance as Aryan Singh Rathore. His off-screen bond with Sumbul Touqeer was also a constant talking point as fans truly admired the pair. Due to the pair’s success and recognition, Fahmaan entered Bigg Boss 16 as a guest to give some support to Sumbul who is a contestant on the show. Along with this, Fahmaan also began a new journey, this time as Ravi Randhawa in Colors’ new show, Pyar Ke Saat Vachan Dharampatnii. Fahmaan’s portrayal of the unique male lead left quite an impression on the audience too.
1) Harshad Chopda
Ruling the TV screens throughout 2022 was Harshad Chopda. Harshad’s performance as Dr Abhimanyu Birla in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai continues to receive appreciation from the audience. While many shows mostly have the female lead in the spotlight, the pairing of Abhimanyu and Akshara beautifully demonstrates equality in a relationship and in family responsibilities. Not just this, but his chemistry with Pranali Rathod was talked about throughout the year. Harshad also continues to serve as an inspiration for fitness and the simple mantra of letting your work speak for itself.
