Television’s longest-running show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ has recently seen the wedding of the show’s third generation. Abhimanyu (Harshad Chopda) and Akshara (Pranali Rathod) have finally taken their vows with beautiful Jaipur as the setting.
The show is known to feature ceremonies filled with grandeur and cultural importance. This wedding was no exception! Take a look at some of the magical moments that took place during #AbhiRa’s much talked about wedding!
The Haldi Ceremony
While the Goenkas had wanted to have a joint Haldi ceremony, the idea was not received with the same enthusiasm by the Birlas. Therefore, Abhimanyu and Akshara had separate ceremonies but wait… it ended up becoming one due to mishaps and well…a bit of Akshara’s cute jealousy! Both the families then happily celebrated the ceremony.
The Hot Air Balloon
Fans would have experienced a shock after Akshara’s lehenga went missing but it was Abhimanyu who ended up finding it. To make sure Abhimanyu reaches back to the hotel on time, Akshara chose a rather unconventional method of transport – a hot air balloon! Both Abhimanyu and Akshara then travelled in the hot air balloon and experienced beautiful moments together!
The Akshu-Kairav bhaiya moment
Akshara spent some moments remembering her parents Kartik (Mohsin Khan) and Naira (Shivangi Joshi) which would have made the #KaiRa fans feel emotional. While Akshara did this, she was joined by her brother Kairav (Mayank Arora). Kairav reminded his sister that he can still feel their parents and that she shouldn’t feel sad. When the priest requested for Akshara’s parents, there was a sense of sadness but it was her wish for Kairav to perform her ‘kanyadaan’.
Getting ready
While Abhimanyu and Akshara were getting into their special outfits for the big moment, ‘Aaj Sajeya’ by Goldie Sohel played and it made for a very goosebumps-worthy moment!
The Baraat
While the typical entry of the groom is done on a white mare, Abhimanyu decided to make his heroic entry on his famous bike. To make things more exciting, the groom-to-be danced on ‘Sauda Khara Khara’ with the rest of his family members. The Goenkas replied by dancing on ‘Damadji Angana Hai Padhare’ to welcome their soon to be son-in-law.
The Prank!
When it came to Akshara’s entry, someone dressed as the bride came out and behaved rather strangely. It was to Abhimanyu’s surprise (or maybe relief) that it was not Akshara but someone else!
The Bride’s entry
When it came to Akshara’s entry, the beautiful bride made a grand entry with fireworks and lights appearing as she made her way.
Neil’s twist
While it is known for the groom’s shoes to be stolen by the bride’s siblings to receive money, Neil (Paras Priyadarshan) decided to steal his bhabhi’s sandals this time while his siblings supported his unique idea.
The Rituals
The meaning of each vow was explained by the elders making them more meaningful even for the viewers.
