Saie Tamhankar takes the Best Actor trophy home for her role in Dhurala
Saie Tamhankar never misses a chance to surprise the audience with her power-packed performances across genres and languages! A multi-lingual superstar, who is riding high on the reception of Pondicherry, has now won the Best Actor in a Leading Role for Dhurala at Planet Marathi Filmfare Awards.
While sharing her excitement about taking the black lady home, Saie Tamhankar said, “I am super thrilled to receive the honor for Dhurala. It is a drama and a character that is really close to my heart because it gave me a lot to explore as an artist. The award only makes me more confident in my choices and fuels me to take more challenging roles.”
Dhurala, a political drama, became a massive hit in 2020 and garnered rave reviews from all corners. Saie Tamhankar as Harshada won everyone’s hearts. Meanwhile, the brilliant actress has a packed calendar with multiple releases on the horizon, including Pet Puraan, Medium Spicy, Madhur Bhandarkar’s India Lockdown, and Bhakshak with Bhumi Pednekar.
Sai Tamhankar was born on 25 June 1986 in Sangli, Maharashtra, India, and studied at Savarkar Pratisthan. She was a state-level Kabaddi player and has an orange belt in karate as well. She got into acting through a play directed by her mother’s friend. Her second play, Aadhe Adhure, won her the Best Actress award, at an inter-college theater competition
