We put together once again our list of the most influential people in the community. They are the movers and the shakers in the city. The list includes philanthropists, models, education, Fitness experts, news anchors, radio hosts, businesses, singers, and beyond. It is just a refresher, a reminder for these personalities who continue to work towards the community while they influence many through their social media and social work.

Here is our list for the year 2021… Thank you all for supporting the community throughout the year and inspiring the young generation.

Neeru Bajwa Neeru Bajwa who is an actress is a global celebrity, but she is also part of our community of British Columbia. Adding shine to the city? Neeru resides in the Vancouver region. She is a self-made actress who is driven towards success. We have only great things to say about this incredible human. She is nothing, but a true inspiration. Neeru Bajwa (born 26 August 1982) is an Indo-Canadian actress, director, and producer who has mainly worked in Punjabi and Hindi films. She started her career in 1998 with Dev Anand’s Bollywood film Main Solah Baras Ki and then moved on to working in Hindi soap operas and Punjabi-language films.

Kal Dosanjh Kal Dosanjh is a veteran police officer, with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. He served approximately 15 years as a patrol officer, prior to transferring to the Investigative Division as a detective. … He was one of 15 officers responsible for policing that area as part of the Beat Enforcement Team. He is also a founder of the Kids Play Foundation.

Hema Bhatt
Hema Bhatt is currently the Vice President of Natu’oil Services Incorporated, a premier supplier of edible oils and feed energy supplements, one of the largest importers of packaged palm oil and energy supplements, and a leader in introducing sustainable refined palm oil in North America. Hema is a passionate self-taught leader who continuously strives for excellence and has inspired many through her relentless strength, courage, and compassion for others. The headquarters is located in Port Coquitlam, while the other offices are located in Malaysia, USA, Singapore, and India. Natu’oil Services Inc was awarded the Business of the year 11-30 employees in 2016 by the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.

Aside from being an accomplished entrepreneur, Hema Bhatt is a philanthropist and continues to ensure the active participation of Natu’oil Services in supporting both the local community, as well as, communities abroad.

Vikram Vij – Who doesn’t know Vikram? This celebrity who has been part of show like dragon’s Den and such has made a huge impact on our local community. Vikram Vij is an Indian-born Canadian chef, cookbook author, and television personality. He is co-owner, with his ex-wife Meeru Dhalwala, of the Indian cuisine restaurants Vij’s Restaurant and Rangoli Restaurant in Vancouver, British Columbia. He also owns My Shanti, a restaurant in South Surrey, BC.

Nafeesa Karim Nafeesa Karim is an award-winning news reporter and is the host of weekend editions of CTV News at Six and CTV News at 11:30

Nafeesa joined the reporting roster at CTV Vancouver in April 2012. Whether it’s in the snow, rain, or from high above in CTV’s Chopper 9, Nafeesa has reported live on some of the biggest stories in the city, including the convictions in the Surrey Six murders, the arrests of anti-pipeline protesters on Burnaby Mountain, and the massive 2015 Squamish Terminal fire.

Mannu Sandhu Mannu is a Canadian actress and a model who has worked on many projects. She is also a producer of the Vancouver International South Asian Festival. Mannu is an experienced Business Woman with a demonstrated history of working in the Entertainment and Real Estate industry. Jazzy B -Jazzy B is part of the South Asian Community in lower mainland. We have witnessed him in events like farmers’ protests throughout the year. He is a global celebrity, but we are truly honored to have him as part of our community. Jaswinder Singh Bains knew by his stage name Jazzy B is an Indo-Canadian Punjabi singer and songwriter.

Dr. Birinder Narang
He does not require any description. Serving the community during this ongoing pandemic? DR. Birinder has been nothing, but a source to help and support. Dr. Birinder Narang is a family physician working in Burnaby, East Vancouver, and New Westminster. He practices in a number of settings including a Community Health Centre, Residential Care, hospitals, and walk-in clinics. Although he practices in varied locations, Burnaby is where his heart is.

Raj Arneja Raj is the owner of a major food chain named Nanak foods. She is also the author of “Love At First Sight”. Raj Arneja’s joy to motherhood is her most fulfilling life experience. Her journey is filled with emotions and strife, after traveling thousands of miles from Canada to India which led her to happiness beyond her own expectations.

Nira Arora Nira is a precious gem in the community who constantly inspires the young generation. Nira is a radio host and she can be heard in the morning show at The virgin Radio with Johny and Holly. Nira Is a mother of three children and is a wife to Garry. Nira is a huge believer in Karma. She plays an active role in the community, volunteering her time for various charities including The Beat Cares Holiday Toy & Food Drive, BC Children’s Hospital, and Canuck Place.

Bal Brach – Bal Brach is an award-winning reporter at CBC News Vancouver. She has worked in television, radio, and online news across Canada for more than 15 years. Bal’s storytelling skills have earned her two Jack Webster Awards. She is also the recipient of regional and national Radio Television Digital News Association awards. Simone Grewal an icon and an inspiration for today’s young generation who started her career 17 years ago. She is a freelance voice-over artist, a public speaker, and emcees at community and charity events. An accomplished broadcaster, writer, and producer, Simone have worked at various television and radio stations in Metro Vancouver.

Jacquile Singh Kambo Jacquile Singh Kambo is an award-winning Director and Writer for “Help Wanted” (2016), “Showstopper” (2018), and “Maya” (2021). Fascinated with film noir and drama, he has written and directed on themes about loneliness, identity, and family. His passion for storytelling drives him to build connections and change perspectives. Jacquile hopes to expand his achievements into writing and directing feature films.

Shannon Mann A mother of two and a wife and a business owner? How does she do it all? Shannon Mann is a real blend of mind and beauty inspiring and encouraging women across Canada. Aman Bassi Aman Bassi is a musician line producer and DOP. She has worked on multiple film projects and has shot multiple music videos. She is also making her own music and has released her debut single “Love songs and alcohol” on November 6, 2019. She has achieved multiple awards for her work on films and music videos.

Bindi Bains Bindi is a fitness enthusiast. She thrives on her fitness routine and motivates many each day. At 46 years of age, a time of life when many of us are throttling back and spending a bit more time in the easy chair, the North Delta bodybuilder continues to push boundaries.
