The Bollywood Stars Who Put Their Voices to Use

Everyone is used to seeing famous Bollywood stars in films. However, it’s not just their faces that these stars are now famous for. Like actors across the world, the talented professionals of Bollywood are becoming equally well-known for putting their voices to use. 

This has become common practice globally, with stars voicing characters in animated films and video games. Of course, there has always been a need for this type of work in the entertainment industry. However, with the growth in popularity of film animation and video games, this need has increased.

How actors are using their voices to make money

One of the most famous examples of an actor voicing a character is Tom Hanks as Woody in the Toy Story series. This has become one of his most famous roles. Tom’s brother Jim voices the same character in the Toy Story video games. 

 

He is amongst hundreds of voice actors who have helped to create video game characters. 

According to research conducted by Betway, some of Hollywood’s big names have added their vocals to games including Samuel L Jackson, Kristen Bell and Mark Hamill. 

In Bollywood, some big names are following the trend and providing the voice behind animated characters. 

The voices of Bollywood on the big screen 

Fans of the Bollywood film industry are used to seeing their favorite actors give impressive performances. However, they may not realize just how many times they can hear stars on-screen without seeing them.

 

Here are just some of the voice roles that Bollywood actors have taken on. 

 

  • Shahrukh Khan – He voiced the character Mr. Lajawaab (Mr. Incredible) when The Incredibles was dubbed into Hindi as Hum Hain Lajawaab.

 

  • Priyanka Chopra – Priyanka took on the voice role of Ishani, the Pan-Asian champion from India in the Disney film Planes. 

 

  • Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey – These actors were the ideal choices to voice Pedro and Nico in the Hindi version of Rio. 

 

  • Akshay Kumar – The star played the title character in his version of Jumbo. This was a Bollywood created animation that also starred several other well-known voices including Lara Dutta and Rajpal Yadav. 

 

It’s interesting that Bollywood is embracing the art of animation as well as providing voices for animations and live-action films that have been dubbed from English. 

 

The future of voice acting seems to be bright the world over, with many actors providing their vocal talents for international films and video games. 

 

In Bollywood, there will always be a need for well-known names to provide their voices for dubbing purposes. This need may well continue to expand into home-grown animation projects and video game development. This is an opportunity for Bollywood stars to put their voices to use often, keeping their fans entertained.
