NYC’S Veteran Indian-American Fashion Designer – TINA TANDON – steps up to help fight the battle against COVID-19.
Celebrated Indian-American Fashion designer TINA TANDON– who has been a pioneer and a trailblazer in the Fashion industry, especially in the Indian community, has stepped up to offer help to make medical masks, gowns and other protective gear for the Healthcare workers in need during this time of crisis, while we fight a war against COVID-19 virus.
“It is disheartening to see so many doctors, nurses and healthcare workers also in major crisis as they try to fight the battle against the deadly virus on the frontline. For them to leave their families and put them at risk every day to save other people’s lives, is beyond heroic. We can’t even imagine what they must be going through.
Seeing the crisis getting worse and shortage of protective gear and masks for our frontline warriors- I have been working to pool my resources and my factory partners to see if we can help in the production of protective Masks and gowns needed.
I am very happy to announce that we now have a facility that is equipped to produce 2000 masks a day, and other protective gear in New Jersey! Of course, necessary precautions and measures are being taken to protect the health of our factory workers, which is first & foremost important.

TINA TANDON – who was one of the first Indian-American designers to launch an Indo-fusion fashion line out of NYC back in 2006, now runs two fashion lines – T.TANDON and Posh Pari Couture, catering to both the American mainstream and the Indian-American diaspora.
Her designs have been worn and appreciated by many Hollywood and Bollywood celebs alike- from Brooke Shields, and Katrina Bowden to Taapsee Pannu, PV Sindhu, Tanushree Dutta, Pooja Kumar, Pooja Batra, Purva Bedi, Ami Sheth, Janina Gavankar, and Golden Globe-winning Director/ Producer Nisha Ganatra, among many others.
She has been featured in many top US and international fashion publications including WWD, NY Mag, Time Out NY, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, L’Officiel, Hindustan Times, Times of India, Asian Age, and Vogue Italia. TANDON has always believed in giving back and supported many Women empowerment and Children causes over the years and has been awarded a Humanitarian Award and an Honorary Doctorate. She has also been invited to be a part of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Annual fundraiser in the US, supporting them alongside Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, DVF, Rachel Zoe, and Nicole Miller amongst other top fashion brands. She also has been invited numerous times to speak at US universities as a well-known South Asian fashion designer.
