British Asian Gaurika Delivers “I’m Alive” Feat Sean Kingston
British Asian sensation Gaurika delivers “I’m Alive” feat Sean Kingston
Imagine if Sia, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna and A.R Rahman had a musical baby, they would come close to creating the ‘Sound of Gaurika’.
She’s been described in many ways by industry insiders:
“A triple threat with her multiple talents”
“A naturally gifted star in the making”
“Mesmerising beauty and emotive delivery”
“Performing as a worldwide star performer”
Gaurika’s debut single ‘I’m Alive’ brings together her Indian/English roots with a commercial world pop sound perfectly blended with the Caribbean twist of Sean Kingston’s featured vocals. The track is produced by multi-Grammy-winning producer Juan Cristobal Losada, who has worked with Shakira, Santana and Ricky Martin to name a few.
Gaurika is no newcomer to the music world having previously collaborated with Fashion TV to perform nationwide at renown venues throughout the UK. Her track record of performing at exclusive venues like Selfridges alongside the likes of the Pussycat Dolls amongst others is unheard of as an independent artist.
The UK born artist has worked with a number of organizations including the BBC having toured with them for campaigns such as Children In Need, Comic Relief alongside X-Factor finalists and other Modest Management/SYCO artists plus numerous celebrity guests.
Gaurika also made it as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in 2014 beating over 20,000 entries to make it into the Top 100 – no mean feat!
Gaurika realized her gift for writing lyrics at the tender age of 11. This global artist earned her stripes the hard way, fully immersing herself in music at such a tender age when she sadly lost her mother suddenly. Gaurika turned to write as a form of expression and healing.
Gaurika’s music tastes are very eclectic. Unsurprising as she grew up to the sounds of the Bee Gee’s, Elvis Presley and Paul Simon. Lata Mangeshkar and other Indian greats are also implanted in her musical mind. She also names Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion and Justin Timberlake amongst others as her influences.
A world where lightheartedness rules and where rules are undermined… Gaurika’s unique musical style is created and produces a style and substance that is unique, fresh and powerfully moving.
“Working with Gaurika was a pleasure… Not often do you come across young talent like her, with the right work ethic and frame of mind to strive for her dreams, with a solid sense of discipline.”
– Jon Secada
The late David Gest was also an admirer of her sound stating that Gaurika is: “Set to take the music industry by storm with her unique songwriting and unique style”.
I’m Alive releases on the 7th February 2020 via iTunes, Amazon and other digital outlets.
