Jayeshbhai Jordaar First Look: Ranveer Singh Turns Gujarati Chokro For Divyang Thakkar’s Directorial

Ranveer Singh has always played different characters and is well known for ruling fans heart with his magical performances.

He is now all set to play a Gujarati boy in Divyank Thakkar’s directorial Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

The film is a Yash Raj Film production. It is gaining all the right attention now with its first look. Recently the first look of the film was out. The makers have made a big blast with the attire and presence of the character.

In Gully Boy he showcased the street life struggle of a common guy. He’s recreating the iconic Natraj Shot for ’83. And now, Ranveer Singh is all set to add a Gujarati tadka to his career with Jayeshbhai Jordaar. It was previously announced that Ranveer will be returning home that is Yash Raj Films home. It is to play an ordinary man with extraordinary dreams in Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

Ranveer has shed a few kilos for the role. In the first look Ranveer character sparks bright in the orange, polka dot polo-neck T-shirt with a pair of faded grey jeans. His hair pushed to one side. The actor sports an old-school golden watch to complete his look. The image sees Ranveer standing in front of a group of veil-covered women. It seems like he is protecting the women.

In an interview to a leading daily, Ranveer Singh talked about his character Jayeshbhai. He said,

“As Charlie Chaplin once said, ‘To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!’. Jayeshbhai is an unlikely hero – an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary. He’s hurled into a threatening situation. Jayeshbhai is sensitive and compassionate. He believes in equal rights between men and women in a society. And that is deeply rooted in patriarchal ideals, practices and doctrines.”

He adds,

“Jayeshbhai presented an exciting challenge – to deconstruct myself. It is in order to transform into a kind of character I’ve never inhabited before.”
