Simmi Areff – Love And Other Jokes
Simmi Areff tells it like it is, no sugar-coating! He has a brand new one-man show, Love And Other Jokes, coming up at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square in Sandton on the 27th & 28th of September.
He explores the whimsical tales of his love life. Likewise, he seemingly has all the answers! Take them with a pinch of salt. He wouldn’t be sharing his story if his love life was better than yours.
Above all, setting Love And Other Jokes aside, something that Simmi certainly doesn’t take lightly is the continuous fight against gender based violence. Simmi is using his voice to create awareness and taking a stand and all proceeds from his show will be going to FEMMEPROJECTS. A non-profit organisation with an all womxn, youth-led directorship.

Following his successful TV special, “Lesser Known Somebody”, the new show is about the funny ups-and-downs of love; the awkward moments; the plots of lust and the folly of infatuation. Simmi is the Agony Uncle for the heartbroken; the love guru of the modern era.
“It’s a show with lots of interaction, bringing in the audience to share their love stories along with me. But I’m not only talking about love but about stories of my dad, my poetry and other experiences,” – Simmi.
Furthermore, Tickets for “Love And Other Jokes” are available at R150 per person from Computicket outlets and online. The show carries a PG-14 age restriction and starts at 20h15. The Auto & General Theatre on the Square is located on the Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton.
