In a time of remakes and sequels, Sanjay Dutt is here to give us a treat. The actor, whose film Prassthanam releases today, shared some amazing news.

While promoting the political drama in Dubai, Dutt revealed to a news platform there that his production house – Sanjay S Dutt Productions – have plans to make a sequel to his 1993 hit film Khalnayak. It sources are correct the groundwork for the same is already underway.

Khalnayak was produced and directed by Subhash Ghai. The film starred Sanjay Dutt as terrorist criminal Ballu, Jackie Shroff as Inspector Ram and Madhuri Dixit as his girlfriend, Officer Ganga. The film became the second highest grossing Hindi film of 1993. As much as its story, the film was also famous for its music, especially songs like Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai and Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hai Tu.

Speaking about the sequel, Sanjay Dutt said:

“I can’t speak for others but we are definitely looking at making a sequel to Khalnayak under the Sanjay S Dutt production house. We are still in the talking phase, and have approached Tiger Shroff to star in the film.”

He also revealed that he will reprise his role as Ballu. The news platform writes, while the plot details of the sequel are yet to be revealed, the film may follow Ballu’s release from prison, and his meeting with Ram and Ganga’s son, played by Tiger.

On the work front, Sanjay Dutt’s multi starrer political drama Prassthanam released today. He will also feature in Torbaaz, Panipat, Sadak 2, K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Bhuj: The Pride of India.

Tiger Shroff, on the other hand, will star in WAR co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Baaghi 3 opposite Shraddha Kapoor.

Let’s wait and see what the outcome will be. We will love to see Sanjay Dutt and Tiger Shroff share screen space. The rights of the film are currently with Subhash Ghai.
