It’s 20 years for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai today! Feeling old yet all you 90s kids who went to theatres to watch the romantic film?
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was the directorial debut of the talented filmmaker Karan Johar – in case you didn’t know that. The film was a definite trendsetter with girls wanting Anjali’s (Kajol) shoulder length haircut with the thick cotton hair-band and Rahul’s (Shah Rukh Khan) ‘cool’ chain as well as Tina’s (Rani Mukerji) fashionable wardrobe.
The film that turns 20 today has a stellar ensemble cast – SRK, Kajol, Rani, Salman Khan, Anupam Kher, Reema Lagoo, Parzan Dastur, Sana Saeed, Johnny Lever, Himani Shivpuri, Archana Puran Singh and Farida Jalal – who we love dearly. Farah Khan, Manish Malhotra and Hiroo Johar
Yes we all know Farah Khan was the film’s choreography and Manish the movie’s costume designer. But, what many do not know is that they along with KJo’s mom Hirooji are captured on roll during the scene where Anjali tries to copy Tina’s dressing style so that Rahul will like her also. Geeta Kapoor
Yes, the ace choreography fondly known as Geeta maa since her DID’s judging days made an appearance for a song in KKHH. Agree not many knew her back then but once you watch the song today there’s no chance you won’t recognize her.
Neelam Kothari
Yes, Neelam Kothari too made a special guest appearance in this 90’s hit film. In case you’re still wondering where she was it’s simple – Neelam was the host of the TV show ‘The Neelam Show’.
Nikhil Advani
Yes, the film’s AD was part of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Nikhil appears in one episode of The Neelam Show, where he through electronic media, breaks up with his girlfriend and announces his new lady love to the world.

Here are some things we bet you didn’t know about Kuch Kuch Hota Hai:
1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is abbreviated as KKHH as well as K2H2
2. During the bicycle sequence in ‘Yeh Ladka Hai Deewana’, Kajol lost control of her bike, fell flat on her face and was knocked unconscious. Kajol later said that it was her most memorable part of shooting the film because she doesn’t remember it.
3. The scenes from the summer camp in Shimla were actually filmed at Wenlock Downs in Ooty, Tamil Nadu.
4. Karan Johar had once said that KKHH is pretty similar to the Archie comic where Shahrukh plays Archie, Rani Mukherji plays Veronica, and Kajol played Betty. He further said that the principal, Anupam Kher, looked like Weatherbee and Ms. Grundy was Archana Puran Singh
