Actress Evelyn Sharma who was seen wearing khadi inspired turquoise blue crop top with high waist asymmetrical flared skirt from Label JFH by Jhelum & Aarti & Yoube Jewellery at Zhelum Fashion store in Santacruz, Mumbai.

Jhelum, a multi-designer store-in-store-concept hosted a preview to celebrate the 2^nd National Handloom Day with the launch of their in-house Label JFH. The event was graced by actress Evelyn Sharma who was seen wearing Khadi inspired turquoise blue crop top with high waist asymmetrical flared skirt from JFH.

It is an ode to the pioneer of a textile revolution, Mahatma Gandhi and our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to revive Indian weaves and the national fabric Khadi. This cause was close to the designer’s heart as the ancestors were a part of the agonizing and legendary Freedom movement.

Label JFH by Jhelum & Aarti is a well sort after conglomerate of three looks. The designer has chosen a luscious color palette and has used royal motifs in different surface ornamentation technique. The three primary looks are couture, luxury prêt and prêt. Couture is inspired by the royal wardrobe with a modern twist. It includes heavy flare Lehenga-cholis to fitted-flare gowns, trendy ready-to-wear palazzo sarees to crop tops, pencil fit pants, jackets, dresses and more. The second look aka luxury prêt comprises western hand quilted range of pant suits, jackets and skirts. Whereas the prêt section has a range of pant suits, crop top skirts, high low kurtas and pants, dresses in cotton khadi .

Designer Jhelum Gopal Dalvi explains,

“Throughout the array of designs you can see the use of variety of fabrics including khadi like raw silk, cotton khadi, tusser khadi along with velvets and magnificent brocades to further bring out the concept. An interesting choice embellishment styles like machine embroidery, hand embroidery, painted motifs like peacock, mahal, lotus which resemble royalty have been beautifully blended with the different silhouettes of this collection.”

The designer has also incorporated quilting, filling through handwork and heavy metal flower with dori embroidery to add variations like checks into the designs. This line of designs is a true tribute to the handloom culture of our country.
