It’s been 16 years today since the release of the loving family drama, Hum Saath Saath Hain. With an all star cast and some memorable characters we wanted started to wonder, if Sooraj Barjatya were to remake the film, who would star in the film today? Check out who we cast in the remake of Hum Saath Saath Hain!
Let’s start with the parents, king of sanskaar, Alok Nath and mom to the Khan’s Rema Lagoo are the picture perfect parents. I didn’t want to touch this, I can’t figure out who I could get to replace them since the men of bollywood never seem to grow old. No one has enough Sanskaar as Alok Nathor or as much practice being a mother than than Reema Lagoo! She has played Salman Khan’s mom in at least 5 films and SRK’s mom in Kal Ho Na Ho, in case you didn’t know.
Who could we possibly get to replace them? Shah Ruk Khan and Juhi Chawla? Maybe Mohnish Behl and Tabu, the couple who played the oldest siblings in the film? Nah, we prefer to keep this couple the same!
Mohnish Behl and Tabu
Mohnish Behl played the eldest son of Alok Nath and his first wife. He also has a disability where he has lost functioning in his arm. He later encounters Tabu and their wedding is arranged. Tabu and Mohnish develop a mature love and a deep understanding of each other. It’s lovely how they fit so beautifully together, their calm and ease made me wonder who could play them?
Shahid Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra!
This duo has never been paired opposite each other but among the newer actors they are an older pair both mature and versatile enough to pull off these roles. They are both strong enough actors to express a lot of emotions without dialogue like Tabu and Mohnish did.
Salman Khan and Sonali Bendre
This magical duo showed us a different side of love, that love at first sight, magical love. Sonali Bendre and Salman Khan were the epitome of the ankhon-mein-ankhon type of pyaar. This under-played yet powerful love reminded me of another couple, Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor!
Silent and powerful Sidharth would be the perfect Salman! Sweet, shy Shraddha would totally fit as Sonali, don’t you think? Maybe they could bring their Ek Villain magic to HSSH!
Saif Ali Khan and Karishma Kapoor
These two were the naughty couple, Saif Ali Khan sure knows how to bring the comedy in a romantic flick. These scheming, teasing couple can only be portrayed by two of today’s top naughty stars, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt! These quirky stars definitely know how to steam up the love scenes just as well as they know how to have you rolling on the floor laughing with their antics. Haven’t you seen Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya?
Lastly how could we forget the only sister of these boys? Neelam! Neelam Kothari and Mahesh Thakur play Sangeeta and Anand.
With Anand being the ever loving husband that follows his wife around and fulfills her every desire, this duo had me thinking of only one couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Although these two are a lot sexier than Sangeeta and Anand, they are a fun loving real life pair. I figure why not have the real life joru-ka-ghulam play a reel life joru-ka-ghulam.
Jokes apart it is clear how much Ranveer adores Deepika, his love for her is a constant in a world where love fades and that is exactly how Anand babu feels about his pyaari Sangeeta.
Can you Just imagine if this film was actually re-casted this way? It would be so epic! And Shahid, Deepika, Sidharth and Varun sure do make a hot bunch of siblings! I’m sure no one would want to miss that film!
Hum Saath Saath Hain brings back tons of memories and we’re loving these feels! Sooraj Barjatya seriously needs to do a remake! What do you guys think?
