Get ready for the “high”light of the Golden Door International Film Festival (GDIFF) taking place in Jersey City! Award-winning filmmaker Rohit Gupta’s comedy feature “Midnight Delight”, is set for its New Jersey premiere on Saturday, September 26th with the four-day festival taking place from September 24-27. Tag-lined “Say hi to high…” and “Couch. Conversations. Clarity“, the 85-minute film, Midnight Delight is a composition of nine vignettes of characters at a smoking lounge and their hilarious antics with people they’ve never met before. Gupta shot the entire film in a record two-nights with multi-camera set up. The film is produced by Rohit Gupta and Saumin Mehta. Mehta also post-produced the film, including an animated sequence, in only three months.

In 2015, Midnight Delight won the Judges Choice Film of the Festival award at the Cannabis Film Festival in Humboldt County, California, followed by its Washington state premiere at the 2015 Hempapalooza Music and Film Festival. The cast includes Alexandra Hellquist, Shaheed Woods, Dipti Mehta, Michele Suttile, Maggie Alexander, Rachel Myers, John Crann, Michael Laguerre, Adit Dileep, Sofia Sivan, Bill McCrea and Michael Lester who is also credited as co-editor. The theme song is I get high by Filo.
Speaking about the screening Gupta said,
“We are happy to have the NJ premiere at GDIFF again. Screening at the GDIFF is special for many reasons, primarily that the cast and crew’s friends and family based in NYC/Nj will be able to experience the film on the big screen locally.”
Gupta’s first film Another Day Another Life (a 4-minute suspense thriller) kicked off the first GDIFF in 2011 and walked away with several nominations and ‘Best Concept award‘. His first feature Life! Camera Action… also had it’s NJ premiere at the 2011 festival and secured 5 nominations. On September 15th, Gupta’s production company Dot and Feather Entertainment also dropped a new trailer of Midnight Delight.
