#TogetherOnline: Hold your mom’s hand as she discovers a new world, says Google

Have you ever sat down when you were at home and had your parents call out to you and say to you randomly ‘I love you’? Those three words are words we love hearing from our parents ‘I Love you Beta/Beti’ (daughter/son).  I know my parents have and each time they do it reminds me how lucky we are to have parents who care. Being an Indian-American Born we sometimes forget our roots our memories when we were young. This commercial which Google India put together put me in tears as it allows us to not only have our parents connected to the world of digital but also a way to connect more with them and teach them a new world.

Google India has come up with an initiative called ‘#TogetherOnline’ to promote digital literacy among women. During the nine-week long initiative, the search engine giant will set up number of activities across India spreading knowledge about the digital world especially among women. Here is a video by Google India that asks you to make aware your mother about a new world called ‘digital world’.  Connecting our parents to the world of digital world is always fun and it also brings us closer to them as we care so much.

The emotional video asks you to bring your mom in the digital era where she can experience a new world of information, communication and entertainment.

“Hold your mom’s hand as she discovers a new world. Help her get online,” the video description reads. Snapdeal, Axis Bank, HUL and GSK have partnered with Google India to drive the #TogetherOnline initiative.

It’s time to reach out and help our moms learn to connect and hold a hand and show them a new world.  #TogetherOnline is the first campaign from the agency’s association with Google and inspires young, Internet-savvy people to help their mothers get online
