Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the second actor from the Hindi Film Industry and the second member from the Bachchan parivar to be honored with the Pazhassiraja Purashkaram- ‘Abhinaya Kaala Ratna’ by the Pazhassi Raja Charitable Trust. Amitabh Bachchan has also received this honor before. Besides the two Bachchans, other recipients of this award include legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, among others from different fields.
Though Aishwarya could not attend in person, she sent a message to say, “I’d like to dedicate this award to every professional I’ve worked with throughout my career and to all my audiences in India and the world over for their love, support and blessings…..and my family.”
