Aaditya Gupta of School Friends is now ready with the next season of the same which has been catching a lot of eye balls. The series has been doing very well and next season is rumoured to be sanctioned. We catch up with Aaditya for a fun session!
Having done a lot of work at such a young age how do you feel?
Despite working so much it never has felt a lot of work honestly, I still feel i am right at the threshold of things. And I still remember my first day ever on set and it was like a new world entirely, a world which keeps on giving and each day feels entirely new.
Season 2 of your show is on air as we speak so we expect a next season as well?
Yes, season 3 is coming out very soon and I am stoked for this season cause just like season 2 after 1 the story is again taking a new turn, we get to see new characters and new dynamics and an entirely different story arc for Anirban and gang. Really looking forward to how it turns out and is received by the audience
One of your best work you are truly proud of, and why?
My best work.. um that’s a tough one.. my best work would be Chota from Apoorva.. that character was tough cause Chota and I are universe apart. The way he walks, talks.. to the way he thinks about every single detail, the world he comes from, the circumstances he has gone through I could not imagine that I could portray the role in the first place, but over time constantly working on it I got close to it.. understood him and his past.. But he was a challenge to portray on screen.. and I hope to keep on doing characters which push me to the edge and keep on challenging me the way Chota did.
How do you choose your scripts ? Any help from anyone or your take completely ?
So there are multiple aspects I think of when I choose a script. Is the script presenting a new world to me, or a new angle to an already existing world. The dynamics of all the characters in the story, the equation they have with each other and how they propel the story forward, whether they become a catalyst for each other or not.
The entirety of the journey of emotions the story takes me on. What nuances and dimension I get to explore of the character within the script. And what is that one learning I am taking away as an actor from it.
