Ritika, cousin of Geeta and Babita Phogat Commits Suicide

On March 17th, Ritika Phogat, the cousin of wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat, committed suicide at the age of 17. She recently played her final match on March 14th, where Ritika lost the match by one point. The popular Bollywood movie, Dangal, was made about Ritika’s sisters Geeta and Babita. It’s been said that one of the reasons why Ritika committed suicide was due to losing her final match in an important wrestling tournament. It’s a tragic loss for the global wrestling community and for the Phogat family. We at Urban Asian send our deepest condolences to the Phogat family during this time.
