Deep Matta’s New Single “Folk Project” Released On Aug 7th

In this age when the Punjabi music industry is crowded with hip hop beats, rap lyrics, & RnB singles/albums, Brooklyn based singer/songwriter Deep Matta is attempting to travel back in time by bringing Punjabi folk touch in his new music project, titled as “Folk Project”. This next single by Deep Matta is a beautiful contrast of folk lyrics, Punjabi folk style of singing mashed with hip beats. The Idea behind Folk Project is to present the core of Punjabi singing style (folk) enriched with hip beats that appeal to the younger Punjabi music listening generation.

Lyrics of this new single are penned by Deep Matta & Didar Sandhu. Since the idea was to bring the best of old school Punjabi folk style music into limelight, Deep decided to use parts of lyrics by Punjabi music legend and his huge inspiration Didar Sandhu. Coincidently, Deep’s father shares the same name, Didar Singh Sandhu.

This is the first time Deep Matta has produced music of his full song, along with writing the lyrics, composing, and singing the song.
