Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is on air for over a month and is performing well not only in India, but in global markets too. The show, which can be credited for redefining Indian television made its return for a modern look at family and life.

Fans are deeply invested in Mihir and Tulsi as a couple and the entry of Noina upset many viewers, with many saying a new Mandira is not necessary. Making things more upsetting, is the entry of Noina’s niece, Mitali, who is seemingly going to be the third angle in Angad and Vrinda’s love story. Kyunki 2 promised to be different and it relying on the Pati-Patni-Aur-Woh trope which almost every show has been doing was deeply disappointing.
However the latest episode served as a reminder how Indian television is praised globally for its portrayals for love and family values. Mihir had initially promised his business to Hemant who left behind all his work in Delhi to live in Mumbai with the family. After Karan’s return, Mihir then handed the business over to him. At first, Hemant was shocked at his brother’s deception and discrimination, but it was just an act. In reality, Mihir handed over one business to Karan and transferred another to Hemant. In this entire episode, how the Viranis deal with dilemmas that crop up in families was strongly highlighted and their togetherness and love shone through strongly.
From Hemant apologising for doubting Mihir and Tulsi, to Gayatri realising her mistake, it had all the feels! The group hugs and jokes among them reminded viewers why the Virani Parivaar is so special and stands out. And this is what’s needed most in our current times and is what’s more relevant to viewers. How a family can solve their problems and have no ego to apologise and unite again.
Viewers hope that this is what they get more of, especially as Angad-Vrinda and Ritik-Munni’s marriages are on the cards at some point in time. These occasions will give plenty of opportunities for modern family dynamics to be shown while keeping traditional values in-tact.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi airs every day on Star Plus globally in India, South Africa, Middle East, and the UK. It also streams on Hulu in the US.
