Having fresh stories enter the television scene is always a delight, and the recent promo of an upcoming Star Plus show has certainly caught our attention. Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad is all set to premiere later this month — and here’s why it looks like one to watch!
The promo opens with Katha (Afia Tayebali), a botanist, nurturing her plants with quiet dedication. When the topic of love and marriage comes up, she firmly states that she doesn’t believe in it — she doesn’t want to experience what her mother went through. A photo of her late mother on the wall adds emotional weight to her words.
On the other side, we meet Uday (Abrar Qazi) — a handsome, effortlessly charming chef who appears to run a cozy café. When Uday and Katha’s paths cross, sparks fly — and not in the romantic way. A heated argument follows, and Uday vows revenge. The trigger? Possibly a remark Katha makes about his mother.
The show marks the return of Abrar Qazi to Star Plus after a successful run in Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV, while Afia Tayebali makes her television debut in what looks to be a striking role.
What could set the show apart is the fresh dynamic between its leads — a botanist and a chef — professions rarely explored on Indian television. Both characters seem grounded, relatable, and likeable, with the promise of emotional depth that could make this show truly compelling.
Produced by Bengali actor and filmmaker Prosenjit Chatterjee under his banner NIDEAS Creations and Productions, the show is the Hindi adaptation of Kothha, which airs on Star Jalsha.
The narrative looks promising, and we sincerely hope the story stays focused on the layered worlds of Uday and Katha — without the all-too-common twist of an obsessive third-wheel disrupting the plot.
