Kumkum Bhagya is one of television’s longest-running shows, having introduced four generations of characters who have made a permanent place in the hearts of viewers. The second generation of the show was introduced in 2019, with Krishna Kaul joining the cast as Ranbir Kohli.

The generation of Ranbir and Prachi brought a fresh energy to the show and surprised viewers with how their story and sparkling chemistry complemented Abhi and Pragya’s. Krishna Kaul and Mugdha Chaphekar’s on-screen pairing became known as #PranBir, and they remain one of the most beloved duos on Indian television. This also marked Krishna’s television debut, and he left everyone in awe with his performance and charming screen presence.
This week marks six years since the first generation leap of the show, which means six years of Krishna as Ranbir. In an emotional Instagram video showcasing Ranbir’s best moments, Krishna expressed his gratitude for playing the character and for the legacy that Ranbir has left behind. Adding a special touch were comments from Mugdha, who referred to Krishna as “Baklu,” the nickname Prachi gave to Ranbir on the show. There was also a comment from Aparna Mishra, who played Shahana, calling him “Shahana’s favourite Ranbir.

Although time has passed and Krishna may no longer be part of the show, it’s heartwarming to see how a character’s legacy lives on and how much it means to an actor, who has lived that character’s journey.
