Suman Indori Review: A Story and Characters which will ‘Rule’ your heart!
Spread the love
Colors’ and Studio LSD’s newest offering ‘Suman Indori‘ has hit our screens and is receiving a lot of attention. The show features Zain Imam, Ashnoor Kaur, and Anita Hassanandani Reddy among a stellar line-up of cast members.
We meet Suman, an independent young girl who runs a chaat stall in Sarafa Bazar in Indore. She supports her family with her earnings but still struggles to fulfil all their commitments and deadlines. On the other hand, we got introduced to Teerth Mittal, a young, up-and-coming political leader, who believes in the power of publicity to become a liked politician. In Teerth’s household, we meet his sister-in-law, Devika. Devika has a strong hold on everyone in the house except for Teerth. Through manipulation, she even has Teerth’s seemingly powerful father in her control.
Things take a turn when Devika and Suman cross paths, with Suman standing up for her self-respect and beliefs, leaving Devika feeling insulted. Devika’s solution to gaining control over Teerth and thereby the entire house is by getting her sister Kritika married to him. Devika’s ambition is to gain full power over the family’s wealth and can go to any extent to achieve this.
How Suman and Teerth’s love story emerges, and how Suman clashes with her ‘jethani’ in the Mittal house, will form the rest of the story.
In terms of story, Suman Indori’s premise is exciting and fresh, as for the first time we get to witness the jethani-devrani dynamic. Highlighting the issues middle-class families face is also a relatable and strong factor in the show. What seems to give the show more power is the beautifully carved-out characters, which are backed by excellent performances.
Ashnoor Kaur makes Suman a strong force on-screen, as she executes the courageous and emotional scenes well, and her chemistry with Zain looks promising. Zain Imam, who is also returning to our screens after some time, is able to charm the viewer with his screen presence and balances the soft and tough sides of Teerth well. Before discussing Anita Hassanandani Reddy, can we say THANK YOU for making a comeback? Seeing her bring the swag, style, and intensity to Devika Mittal makes us grateful to witness her fine skills again. This trio of characters have been leading the cast so well, making the show engaging right from the first episode but the interesting characters and great performances do not end here.
Sambhabana Mohanty’s portrayal of Kritika will also leave you surprised given how different it is to her previous role in ‘Radha Mohan‘, as this one has a comic touch. Sai Bilal and Nishigandha Waad as Teerth’s parents are nothing short of excellent too. Their characters also add to the intrigue as their relationship lacks respect, and Teerth’s mother is often taunted by Devika, quite the opposite of what we usually see. Quite frankly, every character and actor adds something special to the show and we cannot wait to watch how it unfolds.
‘Suman Indori’ will surely be a show which will grip the audiences’ attention and keep them engaged with its fresh story, good pace, and characters which will find a place in viewers’ hearts. This show cannot be missed, as we finally have another show which seems to break away from the now-redundant love triangle idea, and gives a fresh take on family dynamics.
