Realistic and Fresh Approach

While the stories of wives facing abuse have been told before, Mangal Lakshmi’s story intertwines with Lakshmi and Kartik’s. Lakshmi’s pending marriage is something Mangal is working on, and that will form part of the crux of the story. We wonder how Mangal’s life will change after Lakshmi’s marriage, possibly to Kartik!

Progressive and Heartfelt Male Character

Kartik Nigam is the loveliest male protagonist to watch! As a singer, his fame has not gone to his head. He is the darling of his mother, and is humble and treats everyone with respect. There was a scene where he was helping Mangal prepare puris in the kitchen, and he recently took Mangal and Lakshmi to a restaurant where Mangal got to eat her favourite dish for the first time after marriage. Kartik’s thoughts are inspiring, and it is so refreshing to see a male character that lights up the screen with his presence.

Sisterhood

We have seen two sisters or two women not getting along or fighting for the same man, but here is true power in sisterhood! Mangal and Lakshmi give each other strength and show that life can be better irrespective of circumstances if individuals, like two women in this case, support each other.

Well-Balanced Drama

Mangal faces harsh treatment from her husband Adit, but a sense of hope comes from Mangal’s attitude and Lakshmi and Kartik’s support. Her mother-in-law also supports most of the time. This makes the drama bearable to watch. We also see what happens in Mangal’s maternal and Kartik’s home. The differing situations help balance the drama and tie up together pretty well.

Performances

It has been a while since we have seen Deepika Singh onscreen, and this comeback as Mangal is nothing short of explosive! Deepika portrays the various layers of Mangal to perfection, and we cannot wait to see her journey unfold. Sanika Amit is delightful to watch and makes Lakshmi relatable with her nuances. Naman Shaw makes Adit so believable that you would love to hate the character. Shubham Dipta has great screen presence and brings in great energy with his portrayal of Kartik. Not just them, but the entire cast is a real treat to watch!
These are simply five reasons why Mangal Lakshmi is a show you cannot miss, and as the show progresses, we are sure more will be added to the list!
