Yikes! It seems Pirates of the Caribbean actor, Johnny Depp could face a prison term of up to ten years plus a AU $340,000 fine, all for illegally bringing his two dogs into Australia as reported in the Sydney Morning Harold. According to the paper, the pilot that flew the dogs into the country could get two years as well.
Depp had flown in his dogs out of Australia earlier this month after officials threaten to put the dogs down as they weren’t properly declared. According to Australian law, dogs brought into the country must be quarantined for ten days to avoid spreading disease. Officials have referred to the case as “very serious”.
Depp is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. What are your thoughts on this? Sound off in the comment section below.
