Earlier this Wednesday, Shahid Kapoor announced through social media that ‘Jab Talak,’ the first single from his upcoming film Cocktail 2, will release on April 08, Wednesday.
Directed by Homi Adjania, who also helmed the first part, the movie stars Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, too, in important roles. Written by Luv Ranjan, the movie comes fourteen years after the release of the romantic-comedy film Cocktail, starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty in the lead roles.
Cocktail 2 is not a direct sequel to the 2012 film but is rather a spiritual successor to it. Recently, Kriti said that it has a vibe that is comparable to the first part. “The tone and atmosphere are in a comparable realm, yet the narrative and characters are entirely distinct. There’s no direct connection to Cocktail aside from the fact that it encompasses a mix a cocktail of emotions, camaraderie, drama, music, and stunning locations,” she added.

Recently, the film’s makers released a poster giving a first look at the characters in it and announced its release date. Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, the movie is slated for a June 19 release in theatres.
