Ahan Shetty reveals father Suniel Shetty’s advice for Border 2
Ahan Shetty knows that Border 2 comes with history attached to it. At the film’s teaser launch, he opened up about how he chose to approach that pressure, and it all came down to a piece of advice from his father, Suniel Shetty.
While preparing for the film, Ahan shared that Suniel kept it simple and grounded. “Just be honest, just be yourself. Go out there, enjoy yourself. Don’t think about what people have to say and don’t compare it to Border 1, that was the most important,” Ahan said, recalling the conversation.
It’s advice that reflects Suniel Shetty’s own understanding of iconic cinema and the weight it carries. Border remains one of the most loved patriotic films in Indian cinema, and stepping into a sequel naturally invites comparisons. But Ahan made it clear that he didn’t want that legacy to become a burden. Instead, he focused on staying present and true to his own instincts as an actor.
That mindset seems to echo in the teaser itself. Ahan appears raw and intense, firmly placed in the middle of the action, with no attempt to lean on nostalgia or familiarity. His presence suggests an actor intent on earning his place in the story rather than borrowing from the past.
For Ahan, Border 2 isn’t about recreating what came before, but about honouring the emotion of the original while finding his own voice within it.
