Imtiaz Sir made me believe that I could be an actor!’ : Bandish Bandits heroine Shreya Chaudhry on working with Director Imtiaz Ali* As Bandish Bandits Season 2 drops today, all eyes are on the leading lady of the anticipated series, Shreya Chaudhry.

Her infectious charm & acting talent has already become the talk of the town and Shreya thanks Imtiaz Ali for instilling faith in her that she could pursue acting as a profession. Not many know but Shreya starred in the hugely acclaimed director Imtiaz Ali’s short film – The Other Way! The young actress became an overnight sensation during the pandemic with the first season of the musical drama Bandish Bandits in 2020! Over the years, Imtiaz Ali has paved the path for several fresh faces like Tripti Dimri, Abhay Deol, Avinash Tiwary, Nargis Fakhri and many more. Expressing her wish to hopefully work with the director again, Shreya Chaudhry says,

“Imtiaz sir made me believe that I could be an actor! And working with him solidified that dream for me. That I could dream big and chase this profession. I will always cherish the experience of working with Imitiaz sir because the amount of learning I had while working with him is truly invaluable. I am just crossing my fingers and waiting to be an Imtiaz Ali heroine once in my life.”

As part of her upcoming films, Shreya Chaudhry will also feature in Boman Irani’s anticipated directorial debut – The Mehta Boys alongside Avinash Tiwary in 2025.

Shreya Chaudhry was born on 6 November 1995 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She is an actress, known for Bandish Bandits (2020), Dear Maya (2017) and Commando (2023).
