Falu takes home a GRAMMY representing South Asians perfectly in a stunning TINA TANDON design

Singer Falguni Shah, known by her stage name Falu, took home the Grammy Award for ‘A Colorful World’ in the Best Children’s Album category on Sunday. She chose to wear a lovely modern take on the Traditional ethnic ensemble- custom designed for her by NYC celebrated Designer TINA TANDON. Tina worked on the custom dress for a couple of months before the show.
“We were approached by Falu to dress her for the Grammys. I had always admired her talent and we had been talking about designing something for her for the red carpet for almost a decade! And finally- we were coming together. Falu told me what she likes and her vision of what she wanted to wear for the big day. And we worked closely with her to make her dream Red Carpet look come to life! We were very pleased to know she was very happy with the look and it turned out to be the lucky dress- that got featured on the Grammy stage as she got to perform the opening number, and as she accepted the Grammy award! We could not be happier!” mentions Tandon.

Falu chose a powerful red color, a flowy Brocade fitted waist dress, layered with a Georgette sheer jacket embellished with antique gold embroidery work that took 3 days to complete- according to Tandon’s design house- Posh Pari Couture.
Tandon runs and designs for her two fashion houses – which she says represents the two different sides of her as an Indian-American. One is T.Tandon (http://www.TTandon.com @TTandon_NY) – which is more mainstream American aesthetic and for the main American market, and the second – Posh Pari Couture (http://www.poshpari.com @PoshPariCouture) – which is a Indo-fusion fashion house- catering to the Indian American and global desis.
Tandon is a FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) honors grad, who has received many awards including Jay Baker award, Roshni Honoree award, an Honorary Doctorate and a Humanitarian award for all her work and charitable causes she supports through her business operations.
Tandon was one of the first Indian-American designers to launch an Indo-fusion fashion line out of NYC back in 2006, and has inspired many to follow suit. She has been a pioneer in  this category in the US.
“What an honor to perform for the opening number of the GRAMMY Premier Ceremony, and then take home a statue on behalf of all the incredible people who worked on ‘A Colorful World’,” expresses Falu.
