The much-awaited magnum opus BRAHMĀSTRA has wrapped its final shooting schedule in the spiritual capital of India – Kashi – and is all set to launch in North American theaters on 09.09.2022.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures, the magnum opus will release theatrically on the big screen on September 9th in 5 Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada – with a stellar ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni.

SYNOPSIS:

BRAHMĀSTRA- the Trilogy, is a 3-part film franchise and the beginning of India’s first original universe – the Astraverse. It is a new original cinematic universe inspired by deeply rooted concepts and tales in Indian mythology but set in the modern world, with epic storytelling of fantasy, adventure, good vs evil, love, and hope; all told using cutting edge technology and never-seen-before visual spectacles. Releasing In cinemas on *09.09.2022* in 5 Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva, also known as Brahmāstra, is an upcoming Indian superhero film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Karan Johar. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The film is intended to serve as the first film in a planned trilogy.

Principal photography began in Bulgaria in February 2018 and the film is scheduled for release in standard formats, 3D, and IMAX 3D. It will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on 9 September 2022.

The film apparently is set in two timeframes. The main story is set in present times where Shiva Tripathi (Ranbir Kapoor), a young man with superpowers travels 3000 years back in time to the pre-Mahabharatha era to learn about weapons like Brahmastra in order to fulfill a mission in the present time.
