Richa Rathore praises producers Sonali Jafar and Amir Jafar: They are kind and supportive, glad that with them I started my journey as a protagonist

After her prominent stints in Kumkum Bhagya, Divya Drishti, Naagin, and Radha Krishna, Richa Rathore’s finally bagged her debut leading role in Sonali Jafar and Amir Jafar’s Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha. “Nandini is a Gujarati village girl. She is naive yet smart and affectionate. She absolutely adores her sister. Nandini is independent, runs her own business. As the story progresses we learn more about her struggles and how her love for Darsh changes the course of life’s journey forever. In a way, I relate to Nandini. Much like her, I am free-spirited and love my family more than anything in the world,” says Richa.

Speaking of the positive response that Nandini’s character and the show have received so far, she adds

“People like Nandini’s innocence. That’s what I have understood from the feedback and messages that we have received. I hope we would be able to continue keeping the viewers engaged with Nandini’s performance and the story in coming times… There are times when unsaid things get communicated through our eyes. Two people in love understand each other even without uttering a word. It is this feeling that I believe becomes the beginning of a deeper relationship. That’s what the title and essence of the show means to me. And this essence is what had resonated with the audience.”
“Working with Sonali Ma’am and Amir Sir feels like working with family. They take care of each one of us like their own. There is no discrimination, only love, and fun on the sets. They both are kind and supportive. I’m so glad that it’s with their show that I started my journey as a protagonist,” says Richa, who would have been an engineer if showbiz did not open doors for her. Not many know that she had worked in organizations like Byjus and Infosys before joining this industry.

“The best thing about the entertainment industry is its extensive reach. There are so many for whom TV provides an escape from their mundane lives and experiencing the drama, thrill, and fun keep them entertained. It’s about making all these people happy that makes our industry special. Another good thing about this industry is how it adapts to changing times. TV too is evolving in terms of good content, presentation, and approach,” adds the actor busy shooting the show in Goa.

Working amid the surge in Covid cases, Richa was initially apprehensive.
“The challenges of shooting during Covid are ever-growing. With shifting to new locations, one is bound to lose focus, and of course, listening to the news every day only makes it hard to not think about the worse things that could happen, but we are managing well. All protocols are followed on the set. The bio bubble setup has enabled a safe environment for all,” she says.
