Bhumi helps migrant and underprivileged laborers in need of footwear

COVID-19 has seriously impacted daily wage earners and migrant laborers. These people travel miles on foot to get home, and therefore are in need of proper footwear for their tiring journeys. Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar, the brand ambassador for a footwear brand called Lakhani, came forward to help those in need. Tragic images of migrant workers walking home bare-foot with their children moved the Bala star to action. She immediately called the top bosses of Lakhani to help her with distributing free footwear to the poor.

Bhumi and Lakhani then teamed up with The Robin Hood Army to serve this cause. It is a volunteer based, zero-funds organization spread across 12 countries in 180 cities. They helped about 1000 needy people in and around Ghaziabad – in Murad Nagar, Govindpuram, and Vijay Nagar. They distributed footwear among men and women of all ages.
