The head of T-series, Bhushan Kumar and filmmaker Aanand L Rai will be joining hands to co-produce content-driven cinema. The duo will start their journey with a sequel to the 2017 film Shubh Mangal Savdhaan.
The sequel by Rai and Bhushan Kumar is Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan. The movie will star Ayushmann Khurrana as the male lead. Ayushmann was also leading the movie Shubh Mangal Savdhaan.
Directed by Hitesh Kewalya, this stand-alone sequel will also deal with a serious subject in a comic way.
Bhushan Kumar who heads T-series had earlier collaborated with Aanand L Rai for the music of his films Tanu Weds Manu and Zero. Speaking about their association, Bhushan said that Rai has a great music sense. And he is happy to collaborate with him for movies.
Aanand L Rai said that believes that they add tremendously to a film like Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan with their understanding of music and the pulse of the audience. The duo is looking to collaborate on scripts that are exciting, empowering and entertaining.
The report says Bhushan Kumar and Rai’s film is about:
“The character is of a small town boy and the makers wanted to take an actor who can pull off the character with ease. The makers wanted a relatively fresh face and after doing the rounds of auditions, Jitendra fitted all the bills. Although he has not signed on the dotted line yet, he is the one.”
The film will release on Valentine’s Day 2020. It will clash with two films – Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan’s yet-untitled next film with Imtiaz Ali and Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani starrer Malang.
