A while ago the first song of Raazi – starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal – Ae Watan was released. At the press conference held for its launch, actress Alia Bhatt opened up about her views on the horrible event that took place in Kathua. In Kathua, an eight-year-old Asifa Banu was kidnapped, gang-raped and brutally murdered.
When asked about her views on the same, Alia said,
“I don’t think only Bollywood mai narazgi hai, I think pure country mai narazgi hai. Logo ki on a humanitarian level aur narazgi hai.”
She continued,
“It is a very disgraceful, shameful, terrible thing that’s happened. As a girl, as a woman… as a human being…as a resident and part of this country I feel very bad and very hurt that something like this has happened.”
Elaborating further she said,
“I really hope from my heart that justice is served.”
She concluded with,
“We should go out there and condemn it, because this cannot be happening to us constantly.”
Some other things that were spoken about at the press conference was Alia’s experience working with her mother in the film.
