Neeraj Sood: I Never Thought That I Should Have Got X Credit For X Film

Do you have to put in extra efforts to make sure your part stands out?

No, I never think that way. If I do, it will be wrong on my part. Making my character stand out is not what the script is asking from me. I always try to do justice to the character I play along with the script.

Do you feel it’s sometimes sad that actors like you don’t get the credit they deserve?

I do feel sometimes because I have been in this industry now since 1999 and have gained a lot of experience but not popularity. But I also think everything has its own time. I trust myself and my work. I have been appreciated for all the work I have done so far. I never thought that I should have got X credit for X film. I feel it is very necessary for us as actors to keep being positive as it shows up on screen. Today I am happy with whatever I have done and will be in the near future also because I get work of my choice.

What do you do when you are not acting?

I love visiting different places. So when I am not acting/working I usually go out with my friends in Mumbai or out of Mumbai. Mumbai, being a busy city, gets really scary for me when I am not working so this is how I keep myself busy than sitting idle.

What are your future projects?

There are lots of films in pipeline including ‘Dil Phire’, ‘Yahan Sabhi Gyaani Hai’, ‘Fulena Nights’, ‘DNA Mein Gandhiji’ and other than these by god’s grace. Two are on floor about which I won’t be able to talk about right now.

And I have been eagerly waiting for the release of ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ not because I play a pivotal role but because it is a wonderful script and everyone has worked really hard. And I am sure whoever watches this this, will for surely relate.
