Bollywood stars are known to us by their popular names; Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, John Abraham and so on. However, to their close ones, Bollywood stars have been christened with fun loving names which we are totally unaware of but they do exist. The more popular ones include Bebo (Kareena Kapoor), Chi Chi (Govinda) and Duggu (Hrithik Roshan). However, do you know that the shahenshah of Bollywood, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is known as Munna to his family?
Vidya Balan is known as Vidu at home and of course, Sunny and Bobby Deol are pet names to sons of Dharmendra whose real names are Ajay and Vijay respectively.
The Kapoor family is filled with pet names which has made them pretty famous. The veterans Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv are all known as Dabboo, Chintu and Chimpu respectively. Bebo is of course Kareena and Karisma is Lolo, which means “sweet” in Sindhi as of course, Babita, Karisma’s mother is Sindhi. However, mother Babita chooses to refer to Kareena as Anarkali and thus, her daughters beau, Saif Ali Khan becomes Salim by default.
But when it comes to uniqueness in names, Neetu Kapoor takes the cake with her name for son Ranbir Kapoor. She refers to her son as Raymond. Her reason? Well, much like the men’s suiting brand, she believes her son too is a “complete man” which incidentally is the tag line for the Raymond brand.
We may lovingly or mockingly refer to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Ash but the Bachchan parivar calls their bahu Pari which of course, means fairy. To the inner circle, the Bachchan often call her and talk to their friends about Pari praising her for many different reasons.
Karan Johar hates his pet name which is Paapu and of course, the entire industry knows him by Paapu. He is said to be thoroughly embarrassed by his name. Duh! Remember…Paapu can’t dance!
