The normally non-controversial Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has found herself amidst a smoke of ash – pun not intended. Ash is viewed as a youth icon in India and thus, a promotional picture showing her taking a puff of a cigarette with Hrithik Roshan by her side for her upcoming film, Guzaarish, has doctors fuming. They believe she is sending out wrong signals to youngsters who look up to Ash for various reasons.
Buses in the city of Mumbai, are displaying the promotions and this has led a number of doctors to take action. A number of doctors have decided to rally together and request filmmakers to remove these posters effective immediately as they believe this could “influence young minds.” In fact, to protest this act, a number of doctors from the Doctors For You (DFY) organization, will wear black badges on November 19th, the day Guzaarish release. The doctors also intend on writing to Ash requesting her not to use this particular scene for the promotions of the film.
