For global artist and lifelong dancer Dixi, music has always been about movement — not just physical, but emotional, spiritual, and cultural. After seven years of releasing original music, Dixi unveils her most ambitious project yet: “SOUNDS LIKE”, a bold, genre-blending EP that bridges cultures, languages, and sonic worlds. Released on November 14, 2025, the EP fuses Indian classical roots with global influences, spanning EDM, Afrobeats, Pop, and Bollywood, creating a listening experience that moves both the body and soul.

A Sonic Journey Through Love, Loss, and Liberation
Dixi describes the EP as an exploration of love in all its forms — from the innocence of first love to heartbreak, self-discovery, and ultimately a powerful, untamed expression of feminine energy. Each track represents a different stage of love, turning emotion into rhythm and celebration.
“I wanted to create songs unlike anything people have heard before,” Dixi says. “Classical, African, Indian, EDM, Pop, and Bollywood influences all blend seamlessly to form a universal sound. Even though the roots stem from Indian music, the feel is global.”
Produced entirely by longtime collaborator Naveen Kumar, the EP showcases their undeniable musical chemistry. Dixi adds:
“Naveen understands how to translate emotion into sound in a way that feels completely magical.”
Track-by-Track Overview
1. SOUNDS LIKE
The title track is a global Afro-house anthem, blending hypnotic rhythms, pulsing basslines, and ethereal vocals. Inspired by the sensation of falling in love, the song captures the idea that love can be felt as a vibration, blurring the line between sound and emotion.
2. DILJAANIYA
A Punjabi heartbreak ballad, “DILJAANIYA” explores betrayal and unreciprocated love, transforming grief into movement. Its soulful vocals, moody production, and cinematic arrangement create an anthem for dancing through pain and glowing through heartbreak.
3. SAJNA SAJNI
This cross-cultural love story blends ambient pop with energetic dance, enriched with Urdu lyrics and Indian classical instrumentation like the shehnai. “SAJNA SAJNI” captures devotion, longing, and emotional surrender, turning timeless romantic poetry into a modern global experience.
4. MERI JAAN
The EP’s climax is a Bollywood-inspired EDM love anthem, combining powerful KSHMR-inspired beats with cinematic flair. “MERI JAAN” celebrates feminine power, liberation, and the unchained passion of love, transforming rhythm into movement and devotion into dance.

Her music blends South Asian roots with global electronic, Pop, and Afrobeat influences, resulting in a sound that’s uniquely her own.
