You completely disappeared from the acting scene. Were you choosy of what came by?
It wasn’t completely about getting choosy, I probably had been choosy when was acting, in 5/6years of my acting career i played different kind of characters but if i have to be honest, i got comfortable in my space of being married and not being the breadwinner, i wasn’t ever ambitious, I only wanted to do assignment that made me happy and my parents proud of me being an actress, and when I got married i saw them taking that pride in Vikram being a director, and somewhere felt the legacy passed and continue so got laid back n kept rejecting offer. If that’s called being choosy then yes I may have.
What made you say yes to the series you just did?
Once an actor always an actor, i have not work for a good ten to twelve years now, and people seem to have forgotten me, it hurts when you walk with your actor friends who’ve continued to work and people recognize them and not you, cutting long story short i have been yearning to act but very limited role for me and huge competition.
Your husband is a very well known face in the field of direction as a couple, any plans of expansion further?
Yes mashallah my husband is a know name in his field, have learnt a lot from him, we bond over the art of cinema making, all that we do when he’s around is talk about adding to what we are doing, creating different shots, incorporating something we have seen on other shows in the shows we are doing, capturing unspoken emotions differently, all of this only keeps us looking forward to go to work and away from monotony,and when he achieves it I feel I’m living my dreams through him ,his awards ,every compliment only make us feel we are probably going right and have conveyed and delivered, it’s all about adding to the art we enjoy the most, and yes someday we would like to make our own shows and would want to be directed by vikram and direct alongside him too, you may say it’s jack of all and master of none ,but it’s true me as an actor has always in my free time sat at the monitor learning from other actor, gone up to technician and asked about what I wanted to learn , it only made me a thinking actor,
