In this exclusive interview with CIX, the group shares their excitement and creative journey behind their latest release, THUNDER FEVER. As anticipation builds around their title track, “THUNDER,” the members discuss the powerful emotions and electrifying concept that defines this comeback. From intense choreography and unique visual elements to a fresh and energetic sound, CIX reveals the intricate details and behind-the-scenes moments that went into crafting this highly anticipated album. With the passionate support of their fans, the group reflects on how they’ve pushed their boundaries and embraced new challenges, all while staying true to their distinctive style.
The title track “THUNDER” has a lot of anticipation surrounding it. Can you share a little about the concept behind this song and what it represents for the group?
SEUNGHUN: “THUNDER” is a song that strongly stimulates the mind, comparing love to natural phenomena like thunder and lightning. It expresses the confusing emotions and intense sensations that love brings in CIX’s unique way. I’m very attached to this album, as we spent a long time preparing for it. I hope this album becomes a gift for the FIX who have consistently waited for us.
What was the creative process like for this EP compared to your previous albums? Were there any new challenges or exciting discoveries along the way?
YONGHEE: We prepared for this album by carefully refining the details of the choreography. To deliver a high-quality performance, the members practiced every day, ensuring our synchronization was flawless. Also, the members watched SEUNGHUN’s wire action in the music video with great interest, as it was our first time trying anything like that. I’m really happy with how the scene turned out.
BX: Since this is an album we’ve spent a long time preparing, we paid attention to every detail, from the songs to the choreography to the music video. In particular, it was our first music video filmed abroad, so it was amazing to capture exotic and diverse scenes.

Each member has their own unique style, but how did you all manage to come together to create a cohesive sound for THUNDER FEVER?
SEUNGHUN: I think the members interpreted the mood of the title track and brought it to life in their own styles. It will feel even more impactful if you watch the performance—each member comes out one by one, and we all perform together during the chorus. We expressed how each member’s style comes together both in terms of sound and visuals.
What was the most fun or memorable part of working on this new music? Any behind-the-scenes moments you’d like to share?
BX: We were scheduled to shoot a scene on the helipad, on a rooftop. Unfortunately, we couldn’t film that scene due to the sudden rain and snow. If the opportunity comes again, I would love to film it impressively and show it to all of you.
The teaser images shared on social media have fans buzzing! How would you describe the visual concept of this comeback, and what message are you hoping to convey through these visuals?
BX: We used elements like a torn umbrella and a background featuring thunder and lightning to directly express the album’s theme, which I think also sparked curiosity. It’s a playful way of interpreting the lyrics of the title track, “THUNDER.” While maintaining our own style, we put in a lot of effort to present a fresh side of ourselves, hoping people would think, ‘Wow, CIX can pull off this kind of style, too!’
Can we expect any surprises or new elements in THUNDER FEVER that we haven’t seen before from CIX?
YONGHEE: The choreography for our title track “THUNDER” is fast and powerful, and I think our fans will experience a new, charming side of us through the performance.
HYUNSUK: Exactly! It’s an energetic song with a cheerful vibe. Our makeup complements that feel, so please pay attention to the visual aspects as well!
Are there any particular genres or musical influences you’re excited to explore more in the future?
BX: I would love to try a cool and upbeat song that everyone can enjoy! I think it would suit us really well, and I’m curious to see how we’d pull it off in practice.
How do your fans (CIX’s FIX) influence the music and projects you create? Are there any special interactions with fans that inspire your work?
YONGHEE: Of course. FIX is our motivation itself. With immense gratitude, just the thought of wanting to show FIX a good product gives me the strength and motivation to stand up again, no matter how difficult things get.
HYUNSUK: The words and messages from our fans, filled with love, are a great source of support. When I think about the love our fans give us on stage, I’m able to immerse myself more and show a better side of myself.
If you had to describe THUNDER FEVER in three words, what would they be?
SEUNGHUN: New start, Passion, and Electric
YONGHEE: Cool, Powerful, and Satisfactory
